RE: Taking a look at Ethics and it's contradictions

in OCD3 months ago

Hmm, that's a tough state to be in I assure you. Medical ethics over moral ethics can be contradicting at some points but in marriage, it should be realized that a life of one is in jeopardy if he or she is not made aware of the disease contracted by the partner.

A man who cheats and then contracts a deadly disease like HIV, is putting the wife in danger and by extension the kids as well. The doctor owes it to the wife to let her know but I would prescribe doing so anonymously if it would cost the doctor his job. An anonymous call or text message with an unknown number can be used to keep the wife abreast of the situation and help save her life.

This is my simple opinion but left for me, if I were a doctor, hmm, I would prioritize human life first than the medical ethics code.

Sort:

That's still the problem because there's no decision you'll come to that will favour both ethical principles... You'll be contradicting a principle to favour a principle

Anonymous ke, it's not so sha cos you're the only person that knows the test result and the woman came to you alone and Gave you her sample and you alone... Hence it doesn't work

Once it gets out, you're up for loosing your license and possible jail term

It's really a dicey aspect of our practice... You get entrusted with information that you can't make use of

This is a totally messed up situation then.

If anonymous dies not work then I'll have to force the person to come with their partner of open up to their partner themselves or better still refer them to a counselor.

I'm saying this because it would break my heart to know that I have the power to save a life and not do anything about it.

Indeed, it's messed up for real.
Referring to counsellor is the next step after both of them have known of the situation but you can't force anyone to come with anyone...it's not even in your power.

You can't even help it

😂😂😂 alright I give up trying to come up with ideas but these medical ethics need to be reviewed and better changes implemented.
