Greetings to all the community, I present, my name is Daniela Cardona, but they call me Dana of affection, I am 23 years old, I am Venezuelan, and I live in the city of Caracas, and faithful believer of God. I live alone with my mother, I am currently studying nursing, I am in the final phase and doing my thesis to graduate with a degree.
¿Qué áreas me gustan? Específicamente la de Cirugía, y Psiquiatría. Mi primer experiencia en el área de quirófano fue algo maravilloso, asistí por primera vez una Craneotomía, (es un procedimiento sumamente delicado en el que se extrae parte del cráneo para poder tener acceso al cerebro, y realizar por ejemplo, una biopsia) Estaba muy nerviosa, y a la vez emocionada todo salió muy bien, una licenciada me ayudaba a guiarme, y al final me permitió instrumentar sola sin ayuda. Fuen un gran logro para mí.
What areas do I like? Specifically Surgery and Psychiatry. My first experience in the operating room was something wonderful, I attended for the first time a craniotomy, (it is an extremely delicate procedure in which part of the skull is removed to gain access to the brain, and perform for example, a biopsy) I was very nervous, and at the same time excited everything went very well, a graduate helped me to guide me, and in the end allowed me to instrument alone without help. It was a good achievement for me.
Otra experiencia gratificante, fue en el psiquiátrico Sebucán, actualmente Hospital José Mata de Gregorio, donde tuve la oportunidad de conocer patologías psiquiátricas como lo es la esquizofrenia, depresión posparto, síndrome de estrés postraumático, y otras más. Comprender que la salud mental es tan importante como la salud física, y lo más satisfactorio era ver como estos pacientes que se encontraban en estado de delirio, con alucinaciones visuales y auditivas, con ansiedad, ira, y cambios de ánimo debido a la enfermedad, además de tener temblores y algo adormecidos por los medicamentos, en unos meses, ya estaban lúcidos, más estables y conscientes de la realidad. Fue realmente emocionante ver aquella recuperación.
Another rewarding experience was at the Sebucán psychiatric hospital, currently José Mata de Gregorio Hospital, where I had the opportunity to learn about psychiatric pathologies such as schizophrenia, post-partum depression, post-traumatic stress syndrome, and others. Understanding that mental health is as important as physical health, and the most satisfying thing was to see how these patients who were in a state of delirium, with visual and auditory hallucinations, with anxiety, anger, and mood swings due to the disease, in addition to having tremors and somewhat numb from medication, in a few months, they were lucid, more stable and aware of reality. It was really exciting to see that recovery.
Mis últimas pasantías fueron en el Hospital Vargas en la unidad de UCI (Unidad de Cuidados Intencivos), y en geriatría estuve en la Casa Hogar Luis Ordaz. En esta última, traté con adultos mayores en estado de abandono, muchas veces debía ser fuerte ya que se me removía el corazón ver a estos ancianos sentirse solos y tristes, en estado de depresión y siempre extrañando a sus familiares, muchos tenían alzhéimer y demencia senil, a estos había que proporcionarles cuidados mayores, desde levantarlos de su cama para asearlos, vestirlos, alimentarlos, jugar con ellos, y administrarles ciertos tratamientos, ya que eran totalmente dependientes, fue un trabajo agotador y pesado, pero siempre lo hacía con el corazón ya que sabía que ellos contaban conmigo y el resto de mis compañeras como enfermeras para poder satisfacer sus necesidades fisiológicas.
Recuerdo que siempre me encontraba con un anciano muy gracioso, que cada vez que me veía me decía los mismos chistes como si jamás me los hubiese contado, me comentaba sus pensamientos sobre la vida en varias ocasiones repetidos, a veces me reconocía y otras no, era triste pero a la vez disfrutaba hablar con él, y el conmigo.
Puedo decir que la enfermería es una labor ardua de vocación, amor y servicio hacia el prójimo, el poder proporcionar cuidados con el fin de mejorar la salud física, mental, social, y espiritual es algo que llena de alegría mi corazón.
My last internships were at the Vargas Hospital in the ICU unit (Intensive Care Unit), and in geriatrics I was at the Casa Hogar Luis Ordaz. In the latter, I dealt with older adults in a state of abandonment, many times I had to be strong because it moved my heart to see these elderly people feeling lonely and sad, in a state of depression and always missing their families, many had Alzheimer's and senile dementia, these had to provide them with major care, From getting them out of bed to clean them, dress them, feed them, play with them, and administer certain treatments, since they were totally dependent, it was an exhausting and heavy job, but I always did it with my heart because I knew that they could count on me and the rest of my colleagues as nurses to meet their physiological needs.
I remember that I always met a very funny old man, who every time he saw me told me the same jokes as if he had never told them to me, he told me his thoughts about life on several occasions, sometimes he recognized me and sometimes not, it was sad but at the same time I enjoyed talking to him, and he with me.
I can say that nursing is a hard work of vocation, love and service to others, to be able to provide care in order to improve physical, mental, social and spiritual health is something that fills my heart with joy.
Por otro lado, quiero comentar que además trabajo como editora de videos para redes sociales, junto con un pequeño equipo de diseñadores gráficos, y community managers, que me dieron la oportunidad de unirme a ellos y aprender más sobre ese ambiente de publicidad.
También me gusta jugar videojuegos, mi juego favorito es la saga de Tomb Raider. En mis tiempos libres suelo hacer ejercicio y bailar (me gusta aprender coreografías y sacar mis propios pasos). Me gusta la música, estuve en algunas clases de canto, me gusta el dibujo, me gusta el maquillaje, y el arte en sí. Con respecto al maquillaje, comence a hacerlo de manera artística y a subir las fotos de los mismos en mis redes sociales para darme a conocer, gracias a la motivación que me ha dado mi novio, una prima muy querida llamada Adriana, mis tíos, y principalmente mi madre que siempre me esta apoyando en mis metas y sueños.
On the other hand, I also work as a video editor for social networks, along with a small team of graphic designers and community managers, who gave me the opportunity to join them and learn more about that advertising environment.
I also like to play video games, my favorite game is the Tomb Raider saga. In my free time I usually work out and dance (I like to learn choreographies and make my own steps). I like music, I've been to some singing classes, I like drawing, I like makeup, and art itself. As for makeup, I started doing it artistically and uploading photos of them on my social networks to make myself known, thanks to the motivation given to me by my boyfriend, a very dear cousin named Adriana, my uncles, and mainly my mother who always supports me in my goals and dreams.
Mi intención aquí es plasmar mi arte en publicaciones relacionadas a maquillaje. Mi estilo mayormente es oscuro, y en ocasiones algo tierno y kawaii, simplemente es parte de mi personalidad y gustos. Por otra parte, tal vez en alguna ocasión les muestre mis gameplays para aquellos amantes de los videojuegos.
My intention here is to show my art in posts about makeup, my style is mostly dark, and sometimes something cute and kawaii, it's just part of my personality and tastes. On the other hand, maybe sometime I'll show you my gameplays for those video game lovers.
