How To Animal Walk! (Functional Fitness/Primal Movement)

in OCD2 years ago

Animal walks and quadrupedal movement are incredibly effective for enhancing overall total body mobility.

So let’s get started bringing the hands on the ground getting into a table top position, tucking the toes underneath and lifting the knees. We’re then going to step forward with our right hand and our left foot, stepping forward about 2 feet each time.

And then we’ll repeat on the opposite side, stepping forward with our left hand and our right foot, alternating as we crawl against the ground.

Being mindful to keep the knees and the hips low, because we do want the back to be almost parallel with the ground.
And this feels so good, it’s almost like we’re kids again! But this is also very challenging because it incorporates all of the joints in the body and builds a lot of strength throughout the shoulders.

You can even challenge yourself even further by going backwards.

So try this animal walk out today and let me know how it goes!

Looks simple but I’m sure it’s highly effective for overall body strength. I can get down with a crawl :D

For future reference there is now a Health and Fitness Community, which you can post your workout shorts, info and videos to.

The OCD Community is for general topic
posts that do not fit in any of the other communities.
