Closterium sp.
Simile alla luna calante, il Closterium è un’alga verde unicellulare presente in gran parte dei bacini d’acqua dolce specialmente in acque stagnanti tra le alghe filamentose, proprio dove l’ho trovata.
Similar to the waning moon, Closterium is a single-celled green alga found in most freshwater basins, especially in stagnant waters among filamentous algae, right where I found it.
Ha una forma perfettamente simmetrica data da due "semicelle" che contengono generalmente un cloroplasto.
It has a perfectly symmetrical shape given by two "half cells" which generally contain a chloroplast.
Al centro troviamo il nucleo, in questo caso non si vede ma si può notare benissimo l'istmo, ovvero la zona centrale che lo contiene.
At the center we find the nucleus, in this case you cannot see it but you can very well notice the isthmus, the central area that contains it.
All'estremità delle due semicelle sono presenti spesso due grandi vacuoli con all'interno cristalli di solfato di calcio biidrato, gesso.
At the end of the two half-cells there are often two large vacuoles with crystals of calcium sulphate dihydrate, gypsum inside.
