Looking at Charles Bello's house and his way of living in the forest I got inspired. If you do not know who this person is, I recommend you watching a nice documentary called 50 years off-grid:architect maker paradise amid NorCal redwoods. This man practically build with his wife the perfect forest retreat. I was in awe watching the architecture of his house and the way he built an entire microuniverse around it.
I love nature and forests. There you can find peace and tranquility. I think it would be great to find a bigger piece of land somewhere and built your cabin there. Make your own food. Being independent with solar panels and finding ways to live off the property.
In this facepainting I represented the forest keeper. A magical creature, a guardian of the forest and its secrets. I was thinking about the fascinating world of forests and how vital is for humanity to take great care of them. Each of us has a forest keeper inside our hearts. That part of us that knows how healing can be a walk in the forest and how we would like to preserve nature's beauties for our kids and future generations.
I spent almost 4 hours painting this and I lost the notion of time. There is something quite magical happening when I completely submerge in my creative painting and I feel the brush touching my skin and making my vision come to life. The more I painted, the more it wanted to be painted.
