I am a dreamer, a booklover, and a writer – rolled into one. That’s how I describe myself.
My name is Marts and I live in the Philippines. I first joined hive in March 2021 under the account name @emvhie035 but due to my negligence, my account was compromised. My codes were hacked, and I can no longer access my account. But I don’t mind. That unfortunate experience taught me to be more careful this time.
So here, under a new account @devowriter, I am starting anew! And this is my introductory post.

As I’ve said, I am a dreamer. In my younger years, I have always dreamt of being a successful and renowned writer. I love words. When I was in high school, I tried writing fantasy novels and some high school romance stories. And when I came to college, I joined our school newspaper where I learned how to write news and feature stories. And now as an adult, though I work as a bookkeeper and a pastor-in-training, writing still plays a huge role in my ministry because I write devotionals, manuals, and teaching materials. My life revolves around written words!
My love for words was due to my fascination with books. One of my first influences was the Bible, and classics such as the works of Jules Verne, Charles Dickens, and yes, some J.K. Rowling! But now I am more into nonfiction. I love reading books on self-improvement, Christian living, productivity hacks, and self-help.
One of my milestones in writing is my involvement in a devotional book published by a local publisher in the Philippines. Somehow, my dream of seeing my name in the byline of a published book came to fruition. But I won’t stop there. I know I’ve only just begun.

To discipline myself to write regularly, I bought a domain – www.martsvalenzuela.com. From time to time, I post updates and some things that I know will add value to my readers. I’d appreciate it if you visit my blog! I also write on read.cash! - https://read.cash/@Marts
I have written a more extensive introduction to my previous account. I wish to share more about myself but I’m afraid I might just duplicate what’s written there. Here’s the link: https://ecency.com/hive-174578/@emvhie035/a-dreamer-a-book-lover-a-biker-my-ocd-introductory-post
Though I have said seemingly “remarkable” words in this introduction, I acknowledge I have a lot of things to improve when it comes to writing. In fact, I hate prepositions, and I always resort to using passive sentences! Sometimes, I fail on my grammar. I am still far from being the professional that I aspire to be. But little by little, with constant practice, I know I’m growing.
Thank you for reading! Hope to get to know more friends and widen my horizon from this amazing platform!
