After two weeks, One Piece and the other Shonen Jump mangas are back and although I expected some impressive things to happen in this chapter, all the theories I had in mind collapsed with today's chapter. Oda is always one step ahead of his readers and will always impress us with some chapter in the most unexpected way possible. Oda "the breaker" of theories. So without further ado, let's start the reviews:
In the last chapter many things happened, first the disciples of Oden (or at least a part of them), were fighting against the traitor of the alliance, giving us a preamble of what we thought would be a great battle in revenge for that vile betrayal, they also told us a little more of the story of the "daughter" of Kaido, And then, we were presented with Kaido's new plan for Onigashima, which basically, they didn't need Orochi to do it anymore, so Kaido quickly kills Orochi by decapitating him, or at least that's what we want to believe, since with Oda, you never know whether or not I really kill a character. That chapter ended with Luffy and Yamato being discovered and chased by Kaido's guards.
In today's chapter, we are quickly shown the result of the battle of Oden's disciples against the traitor of the Covenant, Kanjuro and his followers, a battle which they easily lost, as can be seen in this chapter. Kanjuro lies dead on the snow-covered ground, and like his henchmen. Two of the most strongers of Oden's disciples, Kin'emon and Denjiro, quickly appear, and after coldly seeing Kanjuro's inert body, they prepare to greet an old companion, and then infiltrate the room where Kaido and all his people are.
We change scene to where Kaido is, which is in front of Momo (son of Oden) to what Kaido asks: What is your name? So if Momo replies that he is the son of Oden, Kaido will kill him, but if he doesn't, she will let him live. Momo has a flashback of various events that have marked his life and bravely says he is the son of Oden, Momonosuke Kozuki.
In parallel to this, Luffy removes Yamato's explosive shackles and causes an explosion which was larger than expected.
Then we change our perspective once again and this time we are shown Kaido about to assassinate Momonosuke, BUT! Surprisingly, Oden's disciples, The Nine Red Scabbards, appear just behind Kaido and attack him in one of the most epic page in the entire One Piece. The chapter ends with all The Nine Red Scabbards making a joint attack against Kaido and with Kin'emon and Denjiro stabbing him and all falling from a great height.
Goood, with this chapter the war has finally begun, and everything happened in the way I least expected. I thought Kanjuro's death would be a bit sadder, but it was off-panel, anyway, I am quite unsure about his death, I need even more proof to believe it 100%. Likewise if she is dead it turns out to be real, I am sure that in the anime these scenes and the fight will be longer. God! WHAT A GREAT CHAPTER TODAY!
