Hello, Steemians.

Hace pocas semanas estuve de viaje por Holanda, específicamente en Amsterdam; es la primera vez que visito territorio de los Países Bajos, sabía algunos datos geográficos, históricos, culturales y gastronómicos por medio de estudios y referencia de amigos; sin embargo, una cosa es la teoría, el contexto verbal de amigos y otra muy distinta es vivir la experiencia; lo que denomino en mi estado de consciencia, vivir el aquí ahora, el presente.

A few weeks ago I was traveling in Holland, specifically in Amsterdam; it is the first time I visit territory of the Netherlands, I knew some geographical, historical, cultural and gastronomic data through studies and reference of friends; however, one thing is the theory, the verbal context of friends and another very different is to live the experience; what I call in my state of consciousness, >living the here now, the present.

Amigos he quedado maravillada por la riqueza artística, cultural, hidrológica, turística y económica que posee esta fabulosa ciudad. Quién iba a pensar que después de Francia e Inglaterra, sería Holanda quien lograría posicionarse entre las primeras naciones desarrolladas a través de su crecimiento económico, social, científico y cultural. Este post a diferencia de anteriores, merece una pedagógica descripción fotográfica para compartir mi emocionante aventura, para ello he preparado suficiente café y galletas; así que viajemos a la ciudad de los canales para deleitarnos la vista y disfrutar de este paraíso cuyo origen se remonta al siglo XII.

Friends, I have been amazed by the artistic, cultural, hydrological, tourist and economic wealth that this fabulous city possesses. Who would have thought that after France and England, it would be Holland that would manage to position itself among the first developed nations through its economic, social, scientific and cultural growth. This post unlike previous ones, deserves a pedagogical photographic description to share my exciting adventure, for that I have prepared enough coffee and cookies; so let's travel to the city of the canals to delight the view and enjoy this paradise whose origin dates back to the 12th century.

El Siglo de Oro de Amsterdam se logra una vez que florece la economía de puerto mediante la influencia del sector primario, para la época estaba representado por la pesca; aprovechando el declive francés e inglés por los embates de la guerra, en poco tiempo Amsterdam se convierte en uno de los puertos más importantes de Europa, con un flujo de mercancía que salía hacia el mar Báltico con destino a Norteamérica, países africanos y territorio de indonesia. Al ser envuelta por el conflicto bélico de Reino Unido y Francia este emporio económico se vino en caída libre; siendo su mayor declive cuando es arrasada durante las guerras de la coalición (guerras napoleónicas).

Amsterdam's Golden Age was achieved once the port economy flourished through the influence of the primary sector, by that time it was represented by fishing; taking advantage of the French and English decline due to the onslaught of war, in a short time Amsterdam became one of the most important ports in Europe, with a flow of goods leaving for the Baltic Sea to North America, African countries and Indonesian territory. When it was involved in the war between the United Kingdom and France, this economic emporium fell into free fall; its greatest decline was when it was razed to the ground during the Coalition Wars (Napoleonic Wars).

Después de la tempestad viene la calma, con ella la luz y colorido que traen significativos personajes claves en la reconstrucción de la ciudad; un factor de gran valor fue la riqueza hidrológica y experiencia en navegación que poseía la población.

After the storm comes the calm, with it the light and colors that bring significant key characters in the reconstruction of the city; a factor of great value was the hydrological wealth and experience in navigation that the population possessed.

Uno de los pioneros en la planificación urbana fue Samuel Sarphati, destacado médico que ejerció muy bien su talento arquitectónico para diseñar este suburbio de acuerdo al estilo parisiense. Se construyeron canales de navegación urbana, calles, plazas, museos, estación de tren y otros sitios de interés cultural, como la sala de conciertos de Amsterdam (Concertgebouw).

One of the pioneers in urban planning was Samuel Sarphati, a prominent doctor who exercised his architectural talent very well to design this suburb in the Parisian style. Urban waterways, streets, squares, museums, the train station and other cultural sites such as the Amsterdam concert hall (Concertgebouw) were built.

Los factores ambientales no fueron impedimento para capturar bellas e interesantes imágenes, en esta ocasión fue el Rijksmuseum, Museo Nacional de Amsterdam, edificado hace unos 220 años; en su interior alberga las pinturas más exquisitas de la Edad de Oro Neerlandesa, grabados orientales, asiáticos y obras del arte egipcio. Destaca piezas de Van Gogh, Francisco de Goya y lienzos de Rembrandt.

Environmental factors were not an obstacle to capture beautiful and interesting images, this time was the Rijksmuseum, National Museum of Amsterdam, built about 220 years ago, inside it houses the most exquisite paintings of the Dutch Golden Age, Oriental prints, Asian and Egyptian art. Highlights pieces of Van Gogh, Francisco de Goya and Rembrandt's canvases.

Por la silueta de mi sombra puedes darte cuenta que este día hubo un radiante sol que aproveché para pasear y tomar muchas fotos. La cobertura vegetal gramínea me encantó con su fuerte verde característico de la clorofila, al fondo algunos arbustos sin hojas porque son especies caducifolios, es decir que en pocos días las lluvias los harán recobrar sus hojas para lucir tan verde como esta grama. La edificación es la fachada del Rijksmuseum, como pueden observar, se trata de un lugar muy concurrido. A mi izquierda se encuentra el Museo de Van Gogh.

By the silhouette of my shadow you can see that this day there was a radiant sun that I took advantage of to walk around and take many pictures. I loved the grass cover with its strong green characteristic of chlorophyll, in the background some bushes without leaves because they are deciduous species, that is, in a few days the rains will make them recover their leaves to look as green as this grass. The building is the facade of the Rijksmuseum, as you can see, it is a very busy place. On my left is the Van Gogh Museum.

La construcción de este monumento arquitectónico se le atribuye al holandés Pierre Cuypers, fue este ingenioso hombre quien mezcló los estilos gótico y renacentista para levantar esta edificación que resalta la historia del arte neerlandés.

The construction of this architectural monument is attributed to the Dutchman Pierre Cuypers, it was this ingenious man who mixed the Gothic and Renaissance styles to raise this building that highlights the history of Dutch art.

Mientras caminaba alrededor del Rijksmuseum, quedaba más impresionada por los grabados y esculturas que resaltan la cultura greco romana; bustos de famosos personajes de la filosofía griega y civilización de la Roma antigua custodian y embellecen este complejo artístico.

As I walked around the Rijksmuseum, I was most impressed by the engravings and sculptures that highlight Greek Roman culture; busts of famous people from Greek philosophy and ancient Roman civilization guard and embellish this artistic complex.

Empezaba a ocultarse el sol, pero quise pasear por el amplio y bellísimo jardín del Rijksmuseum; me llamó la atención el cercado tan bien elaborado en hierro forjado, con un diseño que similar al nórdico. Plantas ornamentales como helechos, flores de varios colores y su emblemática población gramínea.

The sun was starting to set, but I wanted to walk around the large and beautiful garden of the Rijksmuseum; I was struck by the well-crafted wrought-iron fence, with a design that is similar to the Nordic one. Ornamental plants such as ferns, flowers of various colours and its emblematic grass population.

Amsterdam es llamada por muchos la Venecia del Norte por su avanzado sistema de canales que fueron construidos durante los siglos XII y XIII, en el alba de la Edad de Oro neerlandesa. Cuenta con unos 165 canales de navegación que a su vez se interceptan alrededor de la poligonal urbana y se conoce por grachtengordel.

Amsterdam is called by many the Venice of the North for its advanced system of canals that were built during the 12th and 13th centuries, at the dawn of the Dutch Golden Age. It has about 165 navigation canals which in turn intersect around the urban polygonal and is known as the grachtengordel, which means the ring of canals.

A mis espaldas dos columnas de pequeñas embarcaciones que circulan por el canal para transportar personas, mercancías y otros muebles. El caudaloso río deja al descubierto su considerable contenido de materia orgánica que le otorga el color oscuro; en las márgenes se aprecia la población de arbustos caducifólios.

Behind my back are two columns of small boats that circulate in the canal to transport people, goods and other furniture. The mighty river reveals its considerable content of organic matter, which gives it a dark color; on the banks, one can see the population of deciduous shrubs.

Wao, se me terminó el café y me comí todas las galletas mientras trataba de hacer una descripción fotográfica que abarcara muchos aspectos históricos, culturales, ambientales y sociales de Amsterdam; sin embargo, es imposible porque son demasiadas cosas las que tengo que contar y como puedes darte cuenta, me emociono y hago una descripción de cada elemento y ecosistema físico o natural que menciono. Así que con esta genial toma nocturna, me despido y comprometo hacer la continuación de este venturoso viaje a Amsterdam.

I ran out of coffee and ate all the cookies while trying to make a photographic description that would cover many historical, cultural, environmental and social aspects of Amsterdam; however, it's impossible because there are too many things I have to tell and as you can see, I get excited and make a description of every physical or natural element and ecosystem I mention. So with this great night shot, I say goodbye and commit myself to continue this adventurous journey to Amsterdam.
