Unsung Heroes: Milk Provider Continued CSR Personally During Lock-down to Help Centers and Front-liners

in OCD4 years ago

Ever since the pandemic happened although it is for health safety it is very crucial to stay at home while the front liners take care of those who were unfortunately infected by COVID-19.

But many do not realise that at the same time, front-liners are drenched with sweat and tiredness; children centers, drug rehabs that relied on the Food Bank's bi-weekly support with little donations and under privileged hard core poor families are stranded, with no extra income, most of the time because what they worked or gathered were just enough for a day or two with no savings.

This is when A2 Milk Marketing Sdn Bhd decided to make that extra mile to bless the front-liners and the centers with the help of Food Bank's liaising information.

One of their first outreach move was the furthest from the city, the General Hospital of Klang, where now the front-line treating patients with COVID-19 case ever since the city was one of the first to confirmed of the outbreak and labelled as an outbreak hotzone.

Later when the district of Petaling has also been labelled as another outbreak hotzone, they also made arrangements through the Food Bank to contact the Assunta Hospital to donate plant based milk to front-liners.

Because Petaling's outbreak was quite massive and was one of the closest city to the biggest outbreak cluster in Kuala Lumpur, the law enforcement officers started placing roadblocks at various places. No matter rain or shine they were stationed to ensure no cars travel too far from there home.

The company decided to keep one of the police force's morale up by sending cartons of plant based milk to them. Health is the top priority for these front-liners now.

While taking care of the fron-liners, children were not ignored. Planning their route carefully the company managed to swing by a children's home to send enough plant-based milk to last for at least another 2-3 weeks.

While much uncertainties continue to loom as there was another cluster outbreak found and this week is the most crucial week when the virus incubation is at its maturity, there will be many more centers who are no longer able to come out to purchase necessary food easily.

Even certain express services have slowed down their routes in order to protect riders' health; therefore all these extra milk are very crucial to help keep under privileged families sustained.

As Passover approaches, and many faith based individuals will be observing, there's a scripture that reminded me when I see these great CSR works continues to bring aid.

There is light at the end of a tunnel. We just need to hang tight.

But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it]. - Romans 8:25
