RE: Summer of Math!

in OCD4 years ago

Good work with the yoga. I'm not in love with math but I can do some algebra if I have to. When I was in college, I struggled a bit at times and part of that might be due to multitasking just like you do.

Hello again, Joey! :) It might have been due to multitasking. When we multitask we're not allowing our brains to properly absorb and transfer new information into our long-term memories. It's easier to forget. Do you still find yourself multitasking when you're learning/doing something new? Have you found a method that works best for you to better retain focus?

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I multitask to save time and sometimes will focus on just one thing when it is very important. And focusing on one thing for a short period of time can help in a powerful way. But for longer periods of time, multitasking can help more. So, both approaches can help if you are able to go back and forth between different modes as needed. I write things down as I blog and I am even including this, what I am writing to you, in my blog. And that can help me remember. A variety of things can help with learning, memorizing, etc. But you never know what will stick. So, be organized and be patient.

I love that!! Thank you for thinking of my writing in your blog. I appreciate your perspective as well. I have been practicing multitasking but trying to keep it more organized as well. I am able to accomplish more when I write things down in a list form and divide my days according to the hour. There's so much to do and yet so little time in a day to do everything. I'm sorry I've been slacking on here. I have been wanting to respond to your comment here but I've been putting the Hive to the side. My partner suggested I make time to read stuff, comment, and write (for example, doing one each day). Have you had several tasks as of late that you're balancing out? I see that you share a lot of videos. I imagine those take a lot of time!

I know how you feel and I agree. I try to balance between writing posts and commenting. I can also spend all day watching videos. I look at my subscriptions on YouTube and I do not have time to watch all of the videos of all the people I follow. I love playing video games but have not played much since like 2012. I may try to make time for more of that in the future. I mostly have to find balance between different articles, posts, memes, videos, GIFs, etc, that I make, that I create, that I publish, that I share, that I design. I balance between whether I want to write about history, health, technology, my life, world history, religion, politics, world news, funny things, comedy, etc. I like to do everything. Yeah, make a minimum requirement for each day or each month like you said, reply to one comment per week and start out small at first and work gradually at developing habits but at a slow and gradual incline.
