You are still asleep.

--

I contemplate you in bed
and your closed eyes make you see
like a rose that opens
and will inaugurate a new day
and the best thing is that you are with me.

Your slight snoring is funny
for its resemblance to a hymn at dawn.

I know that when you wake up
I will see on your face
the light of a sun
that will illuminate my life,
and I will thank God

I don't want to imagine the sunrises
without the heat of your body
and your presence in my days
every day more vital, my rose.

When you wake up I wait for you
with my getos of bliss,
and together we will say good morning
to the light that is yet to come
and that we know that always
will be in our home.
