You wrote a beautiful post and I completely agree with you.
I always try to comment and interact with as many users as possible, time and work permitting, because it is by interacting and comparing different ideas that we grow and improve.
When I comment several times an author and I never receive answers I end up not following and reading the author because as you said, not responding to comments is a sign of little education and little humility.
Obviously there are logical exceptions such as those who receive a lot of comments and only in that case it is justified not to respond ...
Really nice your post because it stresses the importance of interaction.
