Hi Hivers,
My name is Oritsetsegbemi Kunu (I know my name is quite difficult to spell and even more so to pronounce). It was given to me by my dad, it means "God did this for me". Before I continue, I'd like say to thanks to @hironakamura and @readthisplease for putting me on with Hive.
I'm an 18-year-old student, born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria; the literal heartbeat of the country even though it's the smallest state. The state is also the most populous in the country so it's always buzzing.
I've been at home like most people since 2020 and honestly Nigeria didn't feel the heat of the pandemic health wise compared to other countries but we definitely get hit economically. I'm not the most social person but I miss life before covid. With how drastic the world today has changed I believe it'll be a while before things get back to normal, if ever.
Although I've lived in Lagos most of my life, I spent the last few years of my secondary school and 12th form in other states but no other state can be compared to Lagos when it comes to the energy (which also comes with a lot of traffic btw).
I'm the man in the middle
I'm a firm believer in living life to the fullest so I love reading and experiencing new things. I've been to a few countries outside Nigeria but not nearly as many as I'd like to go to. I speak English, German and the most basic Chinese but I'd like to learn Spanish as well. I'm quite young so I'm still figuring myself out but I want to be a doctor and I'm planning on studying medicine in Germany. I'm a big movie buff, I could spend the whole day binging movies and shows if I have nothing better to do (honestly if I could earn good money watching movies I would sign up in a heartbeat), I enjoy listening to music a lot, playing basketball and drawing.
Over the past few months, I've taken a keen interest in the tech, I've been gathering basic knowledge on programming, NFT's, crypto currencies and the metaverse especially. I find the direction the technological world is going very fascinating especially Zuckerberg's "Meta". I think it's amazing how much the VR and AR world have advanced in order to make the Metaverse a reality. To think that in the near future we could be buying virtual real estate, owning art that could be placed in virtual museums and having full on business meetings that transport you to wherever in the world without even having to leave the comfort of your home. People don't realize that the reality of the matrix movies isn't that far off and to me that's just crazy. Over 160+ companies are working together to build the Metaverse right now. Not only Facebook but companies like Epic Games, Microsoft and Apple are greatly involved in the development of the Metaverse. The tech world truly is developing at an exponential rate and the only two options are to get on the wagon or get left behind.
I hope to be able to meet and join like-minded individuals and communities here. So that's me in a nutshell, thanks for reading. See you in my next post!
