A walk in a tropical island after championing in the battle ground

in OCD4 years ago (edited)

Our company decided to have an outdoor activity other than just having a party at night. In trying to come up with a concensus, or HR sent out a survey on which outdoor activity do we like. I did not pay attention to the other options. I just picked wake boarding. In the end, paint ball game prevailed. For those who may not be aware of it, it is like in a battle field where teams try to finish all members of the opponent through artificial guns with paint balls as bullets. Anyone who got hit is considered dead and can not deny it because the paint will say so.

I never tried the game and it will be my first time so I was pretty excited. The venue was at Global Gutz Park in their Laguna field. They have another field in Taguig City.

On our way to Laguna, our HR was saying that it is basically inside Splash Island resort because the owner of Global Gutz and Splash Island is the same.

When we reached the venue, our entrance was indeed through the Splash Island entrance. Since our target was the war field, we went straight to the left end of the resort where the paint ball arena is.

The war field has obstacles where warriors would shield themselves. There is a demarkation in the middle which tells if the enemy has crossed the boarder. Then you have to be attentive more than ever or you're dead!

If you notice on the next photo, my camera lens was peeking through safety net because the paint ball bullets can actually go beyond the battle field. And, it is not a light hit. It can cause blood clot. This is the reason why warriors are required to wear protective shields before getting inside the war zone.

The shield coats were so thick. The eye shield of the helmets were alreafy blurry due to age. It was so hot wearing the shields but there was no choice. We can not play without them. The conditions of the shields added to the challenge but those did not stop my team from winning as overall champion! 😁

After the game, we finally had the chance for more photoshoots and without the shields that were dragging us down.

Cheers to us, ladies!

And cheers to all of us, warriors and survivors!

We then packed up and found our way back to the front of the resort. This was when I got the chance to take photos of the resort itself.

They have this kiddie pool after the water slide.

Across the kiddie pool are these dining huts which seem to be too cozy for morning coffee.

Next are the nipa huts that are tagged as for rent and the price depends on the length of stay in each hut.

Turning right from the nipa huts, we came to the reception area where there were a lot of banderitas or small colorful pennant used as banners dancing with the wind. In the Philippines, banderitas are usually out during festivals.

On a screen wall near the reception is this colorful and lively tarpaulin poster of the resort. Tropical? So the whole name of the resort is Tropical Splash Island? I checked their website and is just Splash Island. The tropical term is a marketing tactic.

We got to the front of the resort and our two service vehicles were nowhere to be found. I thought the drivers just parked in there but no. When our HR contacted them, they said they went "out." Where out? We don't know so we have to wait.

The waiting time made us look for water and there was no store in sight. I asked the security guard and he said there is a food court inside the resort. That is only where we can find beverages for sale.

I followed the pointed direction. It was the opposite of where we went to the paint ball arena. And that was when I discovered lovely sights in the other parts of the resort.

I smiled at the colorful umbrellas. From the looks alone, they were obviously custom made with the shades of the rainbow. I stood there just watching them for a while until one fell off. I did not know where to bring it because I can not see any office around. I left it to o e of the store owners and asked that she surrender to the management as I am yet to go and find the food court.

To the left where I was watching the umbrellas is thia bridge whi h aeem to lead to more swimming pools. I bet the pools for adults could be on this side as I did not see one somewhere else.

I passed by the umbrellas and cake under more banderitas dancing in the wind. It seems there is fiesta in this resort all the time.

Moving on, I finally found the food court. It wasn't a short walk from the entrance as I thought but that made me admire the discipline of the management and store owners here. I passed by several stores and they did not have water for sale. They only have what they are authorized to sell. I love the discipline!

I went back to the entrance to find the boys lining up and enjoying the camera. And look, they are all behaving well. 😁

I joined the line and had the chance to witness the facade of the resort in full view. I did not notice dueing our first entrance. Now I see it was very colorful and fresh of nature sights.

Even the concrete fence guarding the resort is very colorful and looks full of life. I think it will be lovely to come back here some day at least for an overnight stay in the resort, not just the paint ball arena. I will suggest that next time. For now, it's time to get up and take the memories as the HR called out saying that our vans are coming in few minutes. Gotta get ready for the party at night...

Yap, I really enjoyed it. I was so competitive! 1😁

How did you edit the moving umbrellas not through YouTube?

Posted using Partiko Android

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. 😊

Thank you much try ko
