Regresamos a Paris aquel día y más que el cansancio, lo que se reflejaba en nuestros rostros era la felicidad de haber cumplido un sueño, la satisfacción que da cuando trabajar por algo y conseguirlo. Llegamos ese día a la posada a descansar pues el día siguiente las aventuras parisinas seguirían.
We woke up that Sunday very excited, because that day we would know the famous Louvre Museum, which I only knew through movies and some pictures from the Internet. I knew beforehand that it was a huge place and that in just one day we would not be able to get to know it completely. The complex housed thousands and thousands of works, so we decided to visit the area of Italian artists, where the famous Mona Lisa painting rested.
Despertamos aquél domingo muy emocionadas, pues ese día conoceríamos el famoso Museo de Louvre, ese que yo solo conocía a través de películas y alguna que otra fotografía de internet. Sabía de antemano que era un lugar inmenso y que en un solo día no podríamos conocerlo por completo. El complejo albergaba miles y miles de obras, así que decidimos conocer el área de artistas italianos, donde reposaba el famoso cuadro de la Mona Lisa.
I remember as a funny anecdote that that day there was a very long line to enter the museum because on Sundays the admission is free; we realized the queue would make us lose many hours, so we saw a preferential entrance and asked if we could access, since my mom had had surgery some months ago and she would show them the surgery scar if necessary. I remember the guards' faces when my mom intended to show them the scar on her belly, they emphatically told her that it was not necessary and let us access the museum avoiding hours and hours of line.
Recuerdo como una anécdota graciosa que ese día al llegar al museo había una fila muy larga para entrar pues los domingos, la entrada es gratuita; comentábamos que hacer esa cola nos haría perder muchas horas, así que vimos una entrada preferencial, por lo cual, decidimos preguntar si podíamos pasar por ahí, ya que mi mamá hace unos meses había sido operada y no tendría reparos en mostrar la cicatriz. Recuerdo la cara de los guardias cuando mi mamá justo hacía señas de mostrar la cicatriz en su vientre, nos decían enfáticamente que no era necesario y nos dejaron pasar al museo evitándonos horas y horas de cola.
Once inside, the course was clear, we would go to the Mona Lisa hall. Once in the room that houses the artwork, we realized that it was full of people, everyone wanted to capture every angle of the painting. To my surprise the original piece was much smaller than I expected, I was sure I had seen some bigger copies in my country, the important thing was that this was the original, so as I could, I opened up space among all the people and managed to capture some photographs.
Una vez allí dentro el rumbo estaba claro, iríamos hasta la Gioconda o comúnmente llamada la Mona Lisa. Una vez en el salón que alberga la obra, nos dimos cuenta que estaba lleno de gente, todos querían capturar cada ángulo de aquel cuadro. Para mi sorpresa el lienzo original era mucho más pequeño de lo que esperaba, estaba segura de haber visto algunas copias más grandes en mi país, lo importante era que esa era la original, así que como pude, me fui abriendo espacio entre toda la gente y logré capturar algunas fotografías.
After that pleasant visit, our compass took another direction, towards The Place de la Bastille and the July Column; once there, we talked a lot about history and events that took place there during the French Revolution.
Luego de esa agradable visita, nuestra brújula tomó otro rumbo, hacia la Plaza La Bastilla y Columna de Julio, recuerdo que allí hablamos mucho de historia y hechos allí ocurridos en la Revolución Francesa.
Then it was time to visit another emblematic place in Paris, the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, it was really beautiful, we took many pictures and I remember joking a lot with my mom and my best friend about the possibility of seeing Quasimodo somewhere in the bell tower, at that moment we had nothing left but to be happy.
Luego era momento de conocer otro emblemático lugar parisino, la bellísima Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Paris, era realmente hermosa, tomamos muchas fotos y recuerdo mucho bromear con mi mamá y mi mejor amiga sobre la posibilidad de ver a Quasimodo en algún lugar del campanario, en ese momento no nos quedaba sino ser felices.
Then it was time for lunch, so we decided to have a delicious Italian meal and take pictures with the typical Parisian bonnets. After that delicious lunch, we could not miss a nice coffee in a typical French cafe, beautiful as I used to see it in the movies.
Para ese momento era hora de almorzar, así que para el gusto de todas, nos decidimos por una riquísima comida italiana y jugábamos a tomarnos fotografías con los típicos sombreros parisinos, luego de aquél delicioso almuerzo, no podía faltar un rico café en una típica cafetería francesa, hermosa como solía verla en las películas.
Aquél día había sido fantástico pero era hora de regresar a la posada a descansar y a prepararnos para nuestro siguiente día.
