Your Genes,Your Effort and your results

Doing something at the peak of it, with all expertise is quiet fascinating. How do you feel, seeing an expert doing what he is good at? It's interesting right? Yeah, it is! Seeing great musicians like Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion and others singing, they have good voices! It's nice listening to them as they sing. Seeing great dancers dancing or some atlets displaying, it's really interesting. You could see professional footballers like Christiano Ronaldo, play football for 45 minutes stretch, engaging an intense muscular activity and not get tired, that's incredible. I'm actually a fan of Christiano Ronaldo. Husain Bolt could run the 100 meters is less than 10 seconds, wow! That's really impressive, what a speed he has! The Australian-American; Nicholas James Vujicic has tetra-amelia syndrome, a disorder characterised by the absence of arms and legs, but he became a successful and influential painter world wild, he's also a sky diver, and a motivational speaker. It's really impressive! all this people are professional in their field. But how do this people reach such hight? Have you ever wonder? Have you ever compare yourself with someone who you think is doing better than you in same thing you're doing? Have you ever wonder why some people do extremely better than some people in the same thing at the same place? Several factors are influencing this. Let's talk about few of them.

The role of genetics

some people are born natural, to grow taller than some people, others are born with brighter skin complexion than others, others with higher body weight than others. Well, this is heredity and you just can't change the fact. Gregor Mendel, in his first law of heredity, show how genes are responsible for the developmental characteristics of an individual and how this genes are transfered from one generation to another, with out undergoing any form of alteration. wow! This law is amazing! And it have been proving scientifically. The "Khan Academy" give a clear explanation oh how genes are transfered from Parents to offspring.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.khanacademy.org/science/ap-biology/heredity/mendelian-genetics-ap/a/the-law-of-segregation%23:~:text%3DAccording%2520to%2520the%2520law%2520of,the%2520gene%2520copies%2520is%2520random.&ved=2ahUKEwi1-vKgrcSDAxWzTkEAHToNDhMQFnoECB0QBQ&usg=AOvVaw12SsdmGYu5DdvjURTdnzmH Parents who naturally have good singing voice are likely to give birth to children with good voices. Science direct show the role of gene in voices. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://voice-academy.uiowa.edu/science-lab%23:~:text%3DIt%2520may%2520not%2520surprise%2520you,too%2520strong%2520to%2520be%2520ignored.&ved=2ahUKEwjiiajcsMSDAxXnZ0EAHYnJBXEQFnoECBIQBQ&usg=AOvVaw0Mkt2vDOR4v6842vTSudaB Children who inherited such genes are already one step ahead of those with no such genes when it comes to music. The same is applicable to other professions. Genetics play a crucial role and you can't choose your natural genes. Some people are born with some genes that support what they are doing, so they find it just easy to grow, without having to put great effort, doing something that is supported by the genes you carry is an easier way of attaining results.

Your efforts and your results

As good as the genes you're born with are, learning and consistent practice with great passion to grow is one of the secret behind greatness in any field of professionalism. Malcolm Gladwell in his book "The Outliers" explain the 10,000 hours rule. Using some violin players, he showed that the best player are those that have practice for a longer period of time.
He explain that you'll become a professional over whatsoever you learn and practice for 10,000 hours. That's quiet a long period of time. Well, it takes time to become a professional. The problem with many people is impatient. they just started yesterday, and they want to make it today! Well, things hardly work like that. Great things are made with time. Every professional have pass through steps and processes which actually took them time as they keep learning.
My little advice for you is never to compare yourself with people, if you have not learned and practice what they are doing for the period of time they have done it.

A 10 years journey is more likely to be farther than a 5 years journey. Husain Bolt have trained himself for years, before facing the 2008 Olympic. He trains 90 minutes a day, 6 days a week and 11 months a year.https://www.trackandfieldforever.com/sprint/usain-bolt-workout-routine
When he came out, he was incredible. People really become great through consistent learning and practice. In music, the musical instrumentalist who spend time learning more and spend time practicing are more likely to be better than those who spend just little time with the instrument. The same is applicable to every other field. The human mind is so powerful. with learning, and consistent practice, you can achieve great hight in whatever you're doing. If you can't do it, it's simply because you have not learned it enough.
