RE: HIVE doesn't care about You

in OCD5 years ago

@sergiomendes, I watched the whole video, and while I've read SOME of the comments and conversations, I haven't read them all. So I'll probably end up saying what has already been said. Forgive me, please.

I think a lot of the issues around engagement stems from the simple fact that a lot of us left for one reason or another. So there's not that many of us around. The ones that are still here oftentimes feel just as jilted as you do. As such they end up giving up on it. I think that is a mistake.

Culture is a consensus on beliefs and practices of a community. What that means is that it is the sum of everything all together. You and I, no matter how small our accounts may be, play a part in that. When interacting with cultures, people have the choice to either assimilate or influence the culture...or both. I have made the mistake, in the past, of not exercising my full ability to influence the culture. I don't want to make that same mistake with hive. I would urge you use your abilities to influence the culture here to be more like something of which you'd be proud.

While our ability to influence whales might be limited, we have a lot influence over others. We just have to keep using that ability. We have to be the change we want to see...even when it isn't working. Because people see it, and they take note. Eventually, they also take action. It might mean that they comment only twice instead of never, but over time those effects multiply and before you know it, you've changed the culture.

So don't give up. This post has already had an effect on me and I'm sure others as well. I will certainly make an effort to be the change I want to see. I look forward to interacting with you in the future.

thank you so much for taking the time to listen and leave your input. You are totally right. I have always tried to do that for as long as I have been here. I am also glad to hear and see that actually quiet a lot of people came to talk about this and share their views and opinions. I honestly didn't thought as many people would agree with me or even if they would they wouldn't be speaking out because of the fear of ehat could happen to the possible support they might be getting from bigger stake holders. As You said it is true even with a small stake our opinions as views are obviously important for the community and we are the ones in charge of making changes. I don't have a large voice ans as some people referred I guess I might also come accross as "intimidating" since I have been here for a while and I have content all over the place and people might think i am not approachable, and that idea for me is just so bizarre. Lol. But I am glad to see others were actually able to see mybpoint with this. Once again thank you so much. And well maybe I need to be even more active when it comes to try and get some changes happening in this point.
