OCD Communities Incubation Program - Update #27

in OCD3 years ago
Authored by @ybanezkim26

Hello everyone! Team OCD here with another update on our ongoing Community Incubation Program. The communities are trying their best to keep engagement levels up and are ready to welcome and guide new users. Community leaders/moderators continue to highlight great posts in our discord for some added curation.

We are also pleased to announce that our contest that aims to further boost engagement in smaller communities and highlight them for added visibility is now in its tenth edition. However, we took a break from the communities under the incubation program and conducted a special contest specifically aimed to boost other communities with great potential. Our community highlight this week is Hive SEO.

Please refer to the link below for the mechanics of the still active contest that highlights Hive SEO:

We aim to support communities, help them grow, and allow users posting on genre-specific topics to find the right community spaces to interact with like-minded individuals and gain through the focused curation done by community leaders.

If you've started a new and unique genre-specific community that has the potential to raise a lot of activity, provided that your community has no existing similar community yet, feel free to apply for our incubation program - either by writing in the comment section or contacting us on our Discord in the #community-incubation channel. You can get more info about the program here.

Without further wait, below we give you details on the subscriber growth of the communities since our last post...

Photography Lovers has taken the first spot from Hive Gaming for the first time last week and maintained the lead this week. Most communities are active and doing pretty well, and people are certainly checking them out as they explore diverse topics and contribute to interesting conversations across Hive. In terms of engagement, communities like Music, Haveyoubeenhere, Movies & TV Shows, and Sports Talk Social had over 900 interactions and 160+ active users. Photography Lovers, Hive Gaming, On Chain Art, and Foodies Bee Hive are a few of the bigger communities that are popular and generate a lot of interaction and engagement on Hive. Emerging communities like Hive Motors, Architecture & Design, Toys on Hive, and Hive Book Club are also showing continuous growth.

What's the one new community you subscribed to recently? We'd love to know in the comments.

We're looking forward to adding more communities that focusing on different subjects to our incubation program, and helping them grow with curation and/or delegations.

These posts aim to highlight the communities as well as their curation accounts that post the curation reports, and if you find a community interesting, do feel free to have a look around or subscribe. They'd be happy to welcome and guide you.

The community moderators/curators are doing a great job trying to onboard and help new users as well as highlighting great content for curation. Users must find the right communities and subscribe to those that interest them, which keeps them active and engaged. Thanks for reading!

We would appreciate it if you want to delegate to @ocdb and earn some daily returns with a low fee which can be tracked on our website and vote for our witness if you appreciate what we're doing on Hive.

Have you stumbled upon some new communities that are unique to the ones above and would like to see them get supported? Feel free to mention them here in the comments or join us on Discord and talk about it there in the #community-incubation channel! Please note that this is only for unique niches/genres of communities, nothing "general original content" or country or language-based.

OCD Has a Hive Witness ... @OCD-Witness!

You can vote for @ocd-witness, with HiveSigner or on Hive Witnesses.

Could you please explain what you, @ocdb, @curangel, @sandymeyer and others are doing with your downvotes?
A lot of people get hurt in flag wars and I seem to always gain allies. @engrave will likely lose my witness vote for starters. I don't have time for this! But I can make time.

Is this really the content you feel deserves $20 per post and you're here complaining of $1-2 downvotes? https://peakd.com/@vgalue

You realize there's no guarantee on post rewards, right? People should be able to express their concern of overrewarded content with the 25% downvote mana and I feel there is nothing wrong on them landing on those posts, should be considered to downvote a tad more even. This isn't a farm where you can post low effort content and always get the same voters to support you. There's recurring payments coming up in the next hardfork patreon style if you really want to support certain authors and see them continue posting. I'm sure this is just a farm attempt, though.

Hey, I mainly downvote posts that are getting blind votes by haejin+rancho on trending posts who may have gotten there blindly by the trafalgar/steempty votes. This is usually limited to either people who get their blind votes too often (blind meaning the content don't matter they just vote whatever is trending at the time), or if it's generally low effort low quality content, which it kind of often is as the votes that get them to trending are auto or just super random such as traf's (even talked with him about it he said just downvote if they land on bad posts )

Aside from that we're downvoting some self-voting scheme by the project hope community but that seems to be decreasing now after a few weeks. (they ask their community to set 50% beneficiary to themselves on their posts in order to receive votes most of the time). Other than that I don't believe ocdb is downvoting anything outside of that scope. What posts in particular made you ask? (late reply as I don't usually check ocdb's mentions as they get spammed).

Hi, thank you for taging me.

I follow @keys-defender to downvote.

I trust them with their work and never manual downvote. It is shity ro recive a downvote, I know.

As fare as I understand it is about avoiding people farm the rewardspool of hive in a unfair way. Selfvoting ok, but not if you selfvote to the max and only post to selfvote.

As fare as I know it is about the hive curation project.
Greez !BEER 🍻

Same, I did not manually downvote this. I follow an anti-abuse group.

Do I need to be worried about geting pulled into anouther flag war!?!
I realy want to distance from personal conflicts.
Greez, and keep up the defending.
!BEER 🍻

@sandymeyer I actually don't see any downvotes from me.. https://hiveblocks.com/@done

I am looking through the accounts that I carefully checked before adding them to my curation list. The ones I heard from are @least who was a victim of internet stalking (timid now) and @vgalue whose entire family escaped from Venezuela - now all four of them have covid. I have never seen anything un-origial from either. Looking for others you may have flagged.
Automated flagging is wrong! How would someone get off the blacklist once you put them on it? Please.

They are not on my blacklist

Please lower your autovotes on some of the accounts on your list as the content they produce takes merely a couple minutes and it won't do good to Hive and your investment to distribute it that way.

Hey @keys-defender, here is a little bit of BEER from @sandymeyer for you. Enjoy it!

Learn how to earn FREE BEER each day by staking your BEER.

The word "Abuse" is subjective. The people who are being downvoted are good people who do not spam, or copy/past, or post child pornography. I will wait for a bit longer for an answer.

Sorry, out of BEER, please retry later...

I do not downvote manually, it's a @keys-defender trail. I just disabled it as it causes more problems than it should.

I'll put your witness vote back. I always liked you and your project.

@engrave I follow the hdr (anti-abuse) trail. It's rarely manual downvotes from me. Also, I do not see any downvotes from my account.. https://hiveblocks.com/@done

Any clue @enforcer48? Thx

I know, I'm not saying it's your fault, I'm just tired of being mentioned over and over again.

and i hope its not stopping soon? or has it stopped already?

i would like to delegate some hive power to you guys how do i go about it and what do i stand to gain?

I thought Build it was part of his incubation program, could it be that it was before?
