Other Niche Communities Curation Report #132

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 132nd compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

Still Working on That Game to be Built on Hive

I've mentioned about working on a game on some previous posts long forgotten. It's been an on and off project for fun. It's all on hobby time and I don't really expect people to be motivated to work on something that they won't be compensated for. The motive behind was just seeing how far we can go.

Mud House Interiors

This post is about how we finished up our mud house by designing the interior of the building. Over time, this little room went through many layout and decor changes providing different atmospheres and vibes.

Top branch birds... and low branch birds too

Finally back to SMAP contest! Love this week's theme, branches is where I like to photograph most birds, especially if there is no human influence on sight. This week's theme is Top Branch birds; but to be all inclusive (and since I have good shots on the subject 😁)... I'll add some low branch birds too!

History Muslim and Grand Taipei Mosque in Taiwan

The Muslim community in Taiwan is around 0.3% of the existing population in this country. Even though as a minority, Islam is slowly growing and developing in Formosa Island. More than 180,000 foreign Muslim workers work in Taiwan. They are ame from Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia dominate the growth of Muslims here. In Taiwan, there are seven famous mosques. The oldest mosque is the Taipei Grand Mosque. This great mosque is the oldest mosque, which is often used as a place of Islamic religious activities. Although it is quite far from the area where I live, I have visited the great mosque several times.

Tradisional Cake from Indonesia. Lumpang Cake Recipe

The lumpang cake derived from the area of Palembang, South Sumatra. In the name of the lumpang cake because of its shape like a ‘Mortar’ or ‘Alung’ which is the traditional instrument of Indonesia used to smooth the drug, rice, and grains. This cake made of rice flour and tapioca flour mixed with coconut milk and coated with grated coconut. There are two kinds of lumpang cakes that of palm sugar and pandan. Compiled from some of the things in the village

Bicycles are perhaps the single most effective means of transportation through the small, sometimes very muddy, footpaths in the village. It is used for such things as to the gardens or to the fields. As long as the bicycle can still be rowed, a farmer who sometimes supports his large family does not feel the need to buy a new one. It will be used for a very long time. If there is a breakdown, he will repair it in any way as long as the bike is usable. It will also just park next to the footpath, and it's safe.

#beersaturday - Ode to a local

I've got close over the year, normally pubs near where I worked. There was a backpackers that we drunk at for about 3 or 4 year but eventually the publican moved on and all of that changed and eventually e moved on to. There have been places that I've drunk at often, often enough to know the bartender by name, enough to say hi when I saw him outside of the pub as well, but this is the story of a place that is as close as I get to a local - eventhough it's not really local.

Orchids... on a Sublime & Beautiful Sunday

Growing orchids is easy! If you imitate a plant's natural habitat, it will thrive. The most commonly available orchids, such as the Moth Orchid, Phalaenopsis, are so popular because they do well in typical homes.

YEE-HAW It Is #BEERSATURDAY

FUN FACT: The expression Yee and Haw are actually commands given to plow horses to signal direction. The Yee (also Gee) means to turn right and Haw means to turn left.

See you can learn something new while enjoying beer.

So if you ever find yourself behind a plow horse and need to turn right or left you will know what to say.

Just a word of caution, if you ever try this with a mule, you just might get kicked in the face because mules don't like to be told what to do by loudmouths yelling Yee or Haw.
