Other Niche Communities Curation Report #91

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 91st compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

Hiking Around The Lake Guadalest

How much time has passed since my last #WednesdayWalk? I scrolled down a bit on my blog and found out that it was two months ago. I was already missing the writing on a topic other than music. Maybe some mushroom or succulent related topic found its place to reach out, however, the truth is that not many great and long walks happened either. I’ve been spending a lot more time behind the screen lately, and I’m mostly based only on music themes and posts. Also, the end of the school year is approaching, so the activities around the lessons have intensified a lot. On top of all that, I have to study for a concert that will take place in two weeks and go to rehearsals.

A Journey on learning how to code

When it comes to self-improvement, we are too excited to take one or more courses, either free or paid. However, there is one problem that is often faced, and I am sure this problem is not the only one who has experienced it. This problem is more of a personal problem and ourselves. The first problem is getting started, and the second problem is finishing what we started. An example is my journey in learning to code, I've started from Codecademy, also FreeCodeCamp, what's interesting is how the tortuous process often makes someone stop.

[Spa/Eng] Depresión/depressive

It is no secret that Depression is one of the mental illnesses that has been affecting humanity the most, in fact studies show that everyone at some point in our lives experience some kind of depression. It is a serious health problem that if not treated correctly can worsen considerably. Because of this I wanted to make a graphical representation of what depression can be like and this was the result.

My Diet Without Diet 🍵🥗

When I see the food pyramid, I remember when drawn in my school days, it was a triangle where all the foods were distributed from the bottom to the top. At that time of my childhood I did not understand much about this pyramid, I repeated like a parrot what the teacher taught me. Then in high school I understood that some foods should be eaten in greater proportion than others.

Failure is only a stepping stone - Ladies of Hive Contest

I started going through some of the half written stories, and material I had collected, I have enough to keep me going for quite some time. Feeling disappointed and somewhat disgusted with myself for allowing this all to come to a sudden death; I couldn't stop wondering "Why"?....I had to think long and hard about that one. Well, there was a lot of un-foreseen circumstances happen through the years, like losing our business and having to go back into the corporate world to work. That shouldn't stop one from pursuing one's dream though, should it? My answerer to myself is, No! it shouldn't stop one from making one's dream come true, the only conclusion that I could come to and the main reason I stopped, was because I had no confidence in my writing at all, and was scared of that little "f" word "failure",

The Arranged Marriage

When she stepped in, she was greeted with the eyes of people who seemed to be crying or have cried and we're all looking sober like someone had died. Lols... Just maybe someone has died but who would that be she thought within herself and she searched for answers in the eyes of these strangers in their home.

Forest Medicine

In my previous post titled "St. Geoerge Mushroom", I explore the paths along the forests to find the infamous Calocybe Gambosa. Easy to spot and delicious, it grows in something called a fairy circle. In German hexenring, which translates to witch circle. Until now, I come across them quite frequently and pick them up on my regular walks in the forests.

Peach Carnations

What about friends I come to show you my progress that I have been having these last weeks in each painting that I have been doing, and as you have realized the only practice I have is the paintings that I have been uploading regularly, I have also realized that I feel comfortable painting faces, looking for the different details that watercolor can give me, whether, in skin imperfections or shades, I want to share with you that the handling of watercolor has been made easy for me without having taken a previous course, simply doing it empirically.
