A memorial is a monument built as a symbol of victory in a battle or to commemorate the casualties of a battle.

The UK's War Memorial Trust thinks that ‘various scriptures and myths, including the Bible, mention the construction of monuments or similar monuments. Historians believe that each monument is a single brick in the wall of history. It also has a purpose to identify the place where the incident took place.

History behind Bangladesh National Memorial

The glorious history of Bangladesh is the history of long struggle. In 1971, Bangladesh gained independence at the cost of countless lives in a bloody nine-month war. The National Memorial is a memorial dedicated to the memory of those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the rise of freedom. Located in Savar, Dhaka, this memorial is a brilliant monument to the immense sacrifices of the martyrs of the War of Liberation.

Almost everyone knows that the history of our liberation war is tied with the thread of victory and abandonment at the same time. The Bengali nation has always been interested in expressing the glory of their liberation war.
Therefore, the National Memorial of Bangladesh has been built as a suitable symbol of the struggle and victory of the liberation war. But it stands proudly that the National Library, every year on Independence Day and Victory Day where the footsteps of the President, Prime Minister, government ministers and other dignitaries fall, is commemorated through the colorful parade of the armed forces and the heads of state or government of different countries. In fact, as a memento of the visit to the national memorial to pay homage to the national heroes, they planted saplings of various trees in the premises of the memorial.

Hope that the above information has helped you to know at least something about the National Memorial of Bangladesh.👍👍
