I actually saw one of these last month at the orchid farm near my house. People were calling it the orchid cactus. They remind me of the Cholla Pencil Cactus I used to find out in the deserts of Arizona. Those little pencil cacti had a really sweet and sour fruit on them. Really tasted good but it was impossible to get rid of the hair like spines on them.

Oh yea, the shape is the same as the Pencil one. But it is much much smaller. Mine is maybe 15 cm tall and grows in 8 cm pot. The spines are more like hair. Completely harmless :)
For orchid cactus google shows me Epiphyllum. Don't have those... they have amazing, big flowers! Was the one you saw in bloom?
Hmm I guess people were calling the one you have an orchid cactus. I didn't see the Epiphyllum there unfortunately. That one looks like a weird alien hybrid of a succulent and an orchid mixed together.
