RE: A gratitude post - What are you grateful for?

in OCD6 years ago

Beautiful news about Faith buddy :D

The choice of the word beautiful in that context sounded weird when I read it back, but something told me I wrote it for a reason and wrote it on instinct, so it bloody well stays. Damn I hope this marks a turning point from the crappy chain of events of late.

Gratitude is a stunning thing to immerse yourself in from time to time, ideally daily, but we're only human, right? It is for want of a better word an incredibly 'healthy' pursuit.

I know that what I am about to say may sound cliche'd, trashy, trite and more than a little cringey but F- it, that won't stop me lol.

This is gonna sound utterly insincere but it is not!

I am genuinely filled with gratitude for you man ((I told ya how it would sound!!! Hear me out though))

Many of us have become accustomed in this community, whatever it was calling itself at the time, to the big fish swimming in a giant shoal, and the bottom feeders Redfish and Minnows fighting for scraps and some choose to shout ever louder to get the attention of a passing whale that always felt a little needy and not my scene at all.

You my friend go out of your way to engage with the fry of our community and 'engage them in engagement' for want of a better term. You had a very direct impact on my blockchain journey and the genuine interest you take in people is heartwarming! Many here think that thanks go to people who have a direct financial impact on them... They are missing the far bigger picture.

One of the most precious things we can do is take an interest in a person and foster that feeling that they are a part of something bigger than any one person. I am sure you realised that you G-dog were absolute top of that list of people I am extremely grateful to in a recent post. I launched my first ever contest... Who was first there to drop an entry just in case no-one else did? I promoted another user I noticed and want to bring attention to... Who was over there immediately saying hi, welcome and offering encouragemenT?

You frikkin' rock buddy

Ah f... I am starting to wish I said I was grateful for the sun, the moons and all those other shiny bloody objects that live in the sky now...

I leave this comment grunting gruffly and making guttural dude noises in the back of my throat while beating my chest and talking about beer, sport and guns!!!

Haha. I am incredibly happy to have met you Galen. I know you must sometimes look at your comment section and say "Oh for F's sake... He's here again..."

We have never met, never spoken in person yet and only know of eachother the stuff we share here but I feel readily able to call you friend, Brother or even convict trash who we extricated from the U.K 200+ years ago :D ((sorry man, that was getting too sickly even by my standards.))

I am also grateful that your life seems like it may be lurching off on a more optimistic trajectory man. Thanks G. See you around mate :)

P.S No point apologising for the stupid length of the comment we are both silently resigned to it by now. It is past midnight and I am up around 5.30 but I felt compelled to do this now, lest I forget to respond as happens so often.

It's been good news to get, about Faith I mean, as we were pretty concerned - The not knowing scenario isn't a pleasant feeling.

I appreciate your comments about gratitude and I think it's a good use of the emotion and feeling. I also thank you for your kind words about me - I have a desire to see Hive actually do something, the platform and crypto, and so I try to do my little bit to help it along.

There are so many people that could use the help, many who won't apply it, and others that are not interested in getting it in the first place...But if I can help a few here and there, as do you, then I feel I'm adding value. My wish is for everyone to set aside their personal gain and simply help one or two others...Imagine what the place would be like then!

I have met some really great people here, some that I wish lived closer so we could pick on each other more effectively catch up and hang out as I reckon they'd be a lot of fun - You are one such person. There are others who have come and gone also and I lament their loss however they did what they did for their own reasons and I wish them well, whilst missing their interaction.

It's a strange landscape at times, Hive I mean, but is full of unique people doing what they are capable of, or is best for themselves and some are also doing what they can for the platform. I am but a small cog in the massive machine and I hope, through my example, others start to do a little more. We are a community, all thrown in together, and if we all pull in the same direction at the same time can haul Hive to the heights we would like it to attain.

I'm looking forward to catching up with you for a beer and some food...I'm not going to hold back on the pommy jokes and jibes, nor would I expect you to hold back on the G-dog you convict bastard dialogue. :)

Thanks for your kind words and sentiment...And make sue you have something wacky to post for the #weekend-engagement post this week...Should be a fun one.

EDIT: Just sent you 5 hive for your next competition prize pool @stevenwood
