The making of this Anime T-shirt using a Mouse with some touch ups later on.

"Gojo and a river of demon corpses"

This was a sample later on completed design made for an upwork client i had.

Going to make a post later about my experience with upwork. But for now im going to share how i made this epic design using mouse and later on cleanup with stylus that @demotry bought for meeeee!!!

How it all began and my Stylus Broke!!!

As i started drawing the sketch and rough outline, i noticed something odd with my Drawing pen. Its not registering!!!

After checking everything, such as disconnecting and reconnecting. Restarting the PC. Reinstalling the pen tablet software and even tried some stuff that reddit suggested.

Conclusion. The drawing Stylus is broken, good thing it was only the stylus and not the tablet. So i guess its still salvageable.

One issue tho, i don't have enough money to spare to make such a purchase!!!! I was basically broke at that point and was hoping to finish a commission tomorrow to get some money again.

However i cannot do any work with my Stylus broken, so i went to my Sugar daddy for help.

@demotry!!!!!

Demotry is always there to bail me out whenever i need help. cash or if im not sure that a client is real or if they just sent me a phising link.

Demotry was correct they did send me a phishing link and i got pwned. So i created a new password and everything.

Grrrrrrrrrr

@demotry is very wise, im not sure but but maybe demo demo has done freelancing before so he knows what to look for.

But yeah thanks to him i was able react very quickly.

At first i was worried. After learning about my drawing tablet and how they work. Apparently i needed to get a drawing stylus that was compatible with my model.

Fortunately at lazada, the amazon for us South East Asians. There was a seller that sold ALL TYPES OF DRAWING STYLUS made by XP-pen.

Screenshot (317).png

My model was the Star 03 V2. Of which i was able to find a drawing style compatible with. Then proceeded to share it with demo demo.

Screenshot (318).png

Using the lazada wallet the demo demo sponsored, i picked the SUPA fast delivery option of 48hrs because i need it NOWWWWWW

Screenshot (319).png

With everything double and trippled checked. I ordered the thing. HOHOHOHO

But yeah, for the mean time as i was waiting. 2 days is a lot of time, the upwork clients i had are very impatient and im worried that waiting for 2 days will be a huge set back and i wouldn't be able to complete the designs in time.

So i grew a pair and decided to attempt drawing with mouse.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

"Mouse for the 1st half"

And with that my march to use the line tool like a mad man to create this drawing. It has been years since i last created shapes using the line tool. During this time i was very anxious, even though i had a legitimate reason to rest and wait.

My current financial situation and worries about reviews caused me to push myself and do work even though its going to be shabby.

The design i was tasked with is an anime t-shirt design. Since the client wanted to use popular characters from the popular series of Jujutsu kaisen.

I decided to go with Gojo because he is a funny and dangerous character. He also has a lot of memes so i got tempted.

Started using the line tool to create the sketch. Fortunately there is a way of using it that allows you to bend lines as if they were rubber.

Note* Since this is a T-shirt design for braided clothing or no surface cover to print the design onto. I was forced to only use basic colors such as Black and Red.

Smol issue tho, Adobe has one of the most stupid UI designs out there. Its as if your trying to confuse the user on what a tool does and what its made to do.

If you try looking online within Adobe forums there will be 1 or 2 Adobe Worshipers calling everyone else stupid for using a tool outside of its scope.

Then i look at their work, its all simple shapes that could have been done within 5min. Meanwhile the user asking for help tries to incorporate it to a newground animation or vector art and is confused on why it breaks when creativity is applied.

image.png

Look i created a line

image.png

Wowowow i bent it

Then goodluck, there is a more advanced tool in photoshop but i can't call it a line tool anymore because its using 4d chess to create not just strokes on the canvass but my head as well.

So i decided to stick with animate (Flash) which im used to.

After the entire afternoon fiddling with it, managed to create an outline of the character. Grrrrrrrrrr its looks so odd. Muhahahah

image.png

Created the lower half, using contrast to my advantage. I tried to have a dark and light combination but later changed the white to transparent so it could be applied everywhere.

After 2-days the Pen stylus has finally arrived!!!!

Opening Le Box and seeing what inside. I was surprised on how big the box is. Maybe i got delivered the wrong items. But JEEEEEEZ so much gigantic bubble wrap that i cannot even see my package.

Its not like i ordered something fragile. Its just a plastic pen.

WOWOOWOWOOWO i opened the special box, it contains the pen and a couple spare pen tips. Hohohohoho very noice. Hmmm considering that im holding something worth several dozen normal pens and comparable to the price of a decent fountain pen.

I guess i should expect at least this amount of care.

Also yeah here is a comparison of my new pen (Top) and the old one (Bottom)

The new stylus has a XP-PEN name while my old one doesn't have any words on it.

Grrrrrrrrrr they look so identical.

20240325_155459.jpg

Now you might be thinking of, ewwwwwwwwwww what is that thing on the left pen.

Okay so the thing is, my old pen (left) was already damaged from by excessive use, out of the original 8 extra tips. I already burned through 4 and lost 2. My hard strokes has caused the tip to chip and over time crack then break.

My solution was to remove the tip, stick a pencil covered with tissue paper inside the socket. Then apply a thin layer of super glue on the exposed area of the tip. After an hour or so i was able to use it again like normal.

This happened around october when i created the OCD waifu,

20240325_155711.jpg

Here is front shot of what it looks like. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr my phone camera is sooo blurry.

But yeah overall the new pen was great!

In fact, its awesome. I didn't realize it but my partially broken pen was pathetic compared to the new one. Smooth detection, Linear Pen-pressure and extra pen tips for meeeee.

Overall i rate this 5/5 stars.

Doing cleanup and improving the mouse drawing

image.png

After getting my new stylus, i immdietly put it into work by redrawing and adding some new stuff to the dark pit.

Broke up some parts and added dots and noodles to simulate destruction and debree. Also changed the center from a chaotic artifact to a demonic figure with eyes and stuff.

Hohoohoo this part was somewhat cool to do.

image.png

This is where i began adding ink to the character outline i created before hand. Since im playing with light and dark, decided to do sharp contrast as well and even morph the right arm and leg to blend with the vortex whirlpool of eyes and guts.

image.png

This part is just a little extra, added red to areas of gore to make it look more gruesome and brutal.

Overall i really liked how the entire thing ended up looking.

Then i went to a Design Mockup website. For this example i used https://app.kittl.com/.

Its a very easy to use and user friendly website. They have a built in editor if you want to manipulate the image a bit to fit the mockup. And they have several free to use samples ranging from t-shirts all the way to hoddies, mugs, wallas and even pillows!!!

image.png

I uploaded the image as an PNG file with transparency preserved. This way i can pick any sample be it white, gray or colored. The design would be as cool as it was.

image.png

And here is the output. Overall i really liked the final result. And how it turned out. Im so used to drawing in paper and computer that experiencing other mediums of design such as t-shirts was a refreshing experience.

Also also when i shared it to the folks at Artbees @zeroooc apparently he has a friend who worked at Kittl as an important person. HOHOHOOHO

Maybe maybe once i become good enough. Imma try asking him to reccomend me to people if he finds a open spot that i could fulfill.

But although my skills has reached a decent level for both illustration and animation. Its not enough to justify hiring someone overseas when western companies can easily find a college grad who can fill the position.

GRRRRRRRRRRR

@demotry - For sponsoring this post and providing for me eversince. Grrrrrrrr he has helped me so much i wanna meet him IRL

@zeroooc - Grrrrrrrrr he helped me a lot with his decades of experience and wisdom. Comissions me from time to time so that i stay a float. Hohohohoho

@janusmolinovsky - For drawing with mouse this entire time. I am shocked, grrrrrr save up enough to buy your own graphics tablet. So that you can draw at full powerrrr!!!

Thanks for wathing

Going to have less frequent posting schedule compared to other hivers. Propably because im either busy or the post im cooking includes a illustration or animation that takes a while to make.

So hah! Be sure to favorite me to read it when it comes out.

I rarely repost or post anything in my blog. Yet im already so high rep.

If we tally the post on my blog it would only number around 30-post in my couple of years here in Hive. Grrrrrrrrr i need to post more aahahaha

Welp since posting here is more financially and mentally rewarding compared to Freelance websites like upwork or fiverr. I think i'll stick to hive for the time being.

If there are any comissions im going to try and redirect them to my freelancer profile so that when i apply to jobs they see my history of freelancing.

Aight that's about it.

Seeya later.

The secret identity of Sugar daddy has been revealed.

What do you have to say for yourself!!!

wow that must be torture, running out of a pencil in the middle of a drawing assignment for a client.

The truth is it is difficult to use pens that are not compatible with the tablet, either the drivers, the operating system or simply because the pen was not given the courage to cooperate.

It's great your experience, greetings and the advice is to have more than one of these pens, so it is better to have it in case of emergencies such as this one, to complete a customer order.

RIP dead stylus!
Welcome new stylus!

I remember drawing / coloring with a mouse.. It requires a lot of patience hahaha.

Napakahusay ng design!
Napakabait din nina boss Demo!
Ayus ba dyan sa upwork?
