The drive of passion doesn't really care if the activity is good or bad and I guess that if one is true to themselves, they will follow the passion regardless. It can cause a lot of suffering in the world.

If you take a man from border-line passions to madness, of course, such as Hitler, but if we consider the net of everything, I believe that beneficial passions win over evil.
For sure and I think some of those evils might contribute in driving some of that good too. society rarely changes until we are in enough pain.
Yes I agree if we understand passion as a persistent feeling it can lead to good deeds, beyond the religious one, but referring to society.
