The presence of U Bein Bridge in Taungthaman loch is a great business opportunity for the local people.
U Bein Bridge is visited by tourists from all over the country.
They can make money by selling food and Souvenir.
Catching and selling fish from Taungthaman loch is also a good source of income for the local people.

Taungthaman loch is flooded only during the rainy season, with little water in winter and summer, and loam islands often emerge.
In these small loam islands, the local people grow crops such as peanuts and sunflower.
