Jiddu Krishnamurti is One of The Greatest Speakers You Will Come Across + Reminiscing on My Old Writings

in OCD3 years ago

I am surprised to learn that the last time I wrote about Jiddu Krishnamurti was five years ago. It did not feel that long ago to me. I can even recall some parts of the content I wrote. They were my early days on STEEM (where only STEEM existed) and I am proud to have written them. They are not the most refined content by any means. Consider the value that exist within the content rather than the quality of writing itself.

After coming across an article from @tuisada I got back into listing to more Jiddu Krishnamurti recordings (again) and find myself with a need to get more people into such valuable words.

San Diego 1974 - Conversations with Allan W. Anderson - A wholly different way of living

These conversations are shared to spark your own critical thinking. Jiddu Krishnamurti never claimed to be all enlightened. I don't think he is all enlightened. That is to say that there is a probability that he is wrong about the ideas and thought he present to the world.

Do not look for a savior. Look for a great teacher who can help you to become better. Whatever the specks of spiritual enlightenment Jiddu Krishnamurti has reached, is not yours. It cannot be gifted and it cannot be taken away. All you can do is to is receive guidance on where to look. Then you will have to do the rest on your own.

It Would Be Amazing If You Learned Something New

That was ~17.5 hours of discussions on a wide variety of topics. It was compiled by the official YouTube Channel of Krishnamurti Foundation Trust. The specific playlist I shared today covers a wide range of topics and it could serve as a good starting point to learn about what J. Krishnamurti had to say to the world.

The Past of Jiddu Krishnamurti

Behind the scenes Krishnamurti was brought up in a way that he was a coming of another Jesus Christ or something similar. Depending on the personal beliefs of the members of Order of the Star in the East and Theosophical Society which shared many members, Krishnamurti was the spiritual leader of their vision. To some he was Maitreya , to some it was the second coming and to some it was their version of the great messiah. An entire following was built in expectation of his coming and eventually Jiddu Krishnamurti was finally set to be formally introduced and accepted into the role he was secretly -and near the end not so secretly- groomed for.

This is a person who was about to be literally treated a Christ by a well funded global following. This was the status of Sai Baba or even Dalai Lama handed over to a person's lap who was fully capable of handling it all. It wasn't an achievement but a tribute. This is nothing like the life of any spiritual leader who made their name. They made it and Jiddu was simply given that. What did he do?

He gave a speech at the very climax of the entire phenomenon and in the brief time I spent reading about the person, it became pretty much the best first impressions of a person I've ever experienced it.

"I maintain that truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. That is my point of view, and I adhere to that absolutely and unconditionally. Truth, being limitless, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path whatsoever, cannot be organized; nor should any organization be formed to lead or coerce people along a particular path. ... This is no magnificent deed, because I do not want followers, and I mean this. The moment you follow someone you cease to follow Truth. I am not concerned whether you pay attention to what I say or not. I want to do a certain thing in the world and I am going to do it with unwavering concentration. I am concerning myself with only one essential thing: to set man free. I desire to free him from all cages, from all fears, and not to found religions, new sects, nor to establish new theories and new philosophies."

Reminiscing The Old

I was trying to find the old articles I had written about J. Krishnamurti and came across a list of my ancient works on STEEM blockchain from the time before the fork of HIVE + BLURT. I have to thank @ecency for developing a good search tool. Without it, I would be in a big trouble to dig out my own content. There is a DHF Proposal you can vote for to fund the developers to accomplish better things.

I will end this article by compiling some of my old amateur work. I sincerely hope they will help you transform into a better person as many of the content is based on things that played a role in my evolution. Thank you for reading!

Hi @vimukthi. I'm stopping by to let you know that we have a community called Buddhism, we have another community called SpiritWeb, or there's ecoTrain, where this post would fit better.

OCD community is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Thank you for the guide.
