RE: Similarities and differences

And the nice replies and conversations I find here increase my mood and confidence. So thank you or all of that!

This is what most users cannot say about their posts.
This is why thousands of people leave and left both Steem and Hive. The real, human comments are rare on both of them.

And interacting with others not necessarily brings interaction to your own posts. I am on the 7th place of the engagement league, so I am literally in the top 10, but people still rarely care about my posts. Sometimes even after promoting the posts. And I am not alone. Actually most people can say the same. This is because most people focus only on their own posts, and they rarely care about other people's posts. And many people use automated curation. They do not even see the content they curate.

Yes, definitely, but if writing is the thing they enjoy most, why not? I do know of people who rarely post and much rather stick to the social aspect of the site aswell. I think you need a balance and to each their own I guess. I enjoy the writing aspect aswell, but I try to be active on the social side too. That's not something that comes natural to me though, so my balance does slide towards the writing side most of the time.
I do feel this is the same in any given social media space. If I check my Instagram, for example, It'll have plenty of likes, but hardly ever any kind of comment. I find I do the same aswell, I'll like a post, but rarely have anything interesting to comment. If I do, I will write that comment. Replying, on the other hand, is something I care deeply about, because I do value the interaction. I upvote plenty of comments I receive aswell, when my voting power is in a good place.

Yes, that can be frustrating, but I guess it's their investments to do with as they please in the end. Personally, I do manual curation. However, I don't always have the time to read everyone's post, so the people I know deliver good quality might receive votes without me reading everything. The people I don't know about well enough, I'll read their posts before curating. I just don't always have something to say so to show I read their post, I give it an upvote. To such an extend that I have to be aware to take it easy on my voting power, otherwise it'll drain too far and no one will benefit from my vote anymore.

You can find interaction here, but yeah, you can't force people to comment on your own posts. You'll have to find the active ones and interact there. But like I said, I think that's the same for all social media places.

You can also support them by calling various tokens.
Such as !PIZZA. Now you will get some pizza token in your Hive engine wallet.
You need to hold at least 20 Pizza to support people by giving Pizza tokens to them for free (technically the bot will give you the Pizza after this call).
This is how I can support you, because nowadays my upvote is worthless. Probably that is why people do not care about my posts. Rich people always have interaction.

I do like those extra tokens, the !PIZZA and !LUV ones are the ones I know, but I don't have enough of those tokens I think. It's those extra tokens that I haven't delved into yet. I know to check hive-engine.com for a balance, but that's about all I know.

It's really hard to have your votes mean anything here. Especially after all of these years. When I look at Steemit, my vote is still worth a little something (like 0.30/35-ish), but here, it's... 0.03 to 0.05 I think. Okay, I do delegate a bit, so at full power it's probably around 0.08/9 I think. And that's from an account I build up for about a year in the early Steemit time, when there was less competition.

Yes, big accounts get most attention. They top Trending/Hot lists, they attract people looking for a good upvote, but ofcourse many of them are active in the community aswell (not all). Oh well, again, like real life and other social media, where the big accounts get all of the attention and the 'regular folk' will have to make do with their friends :-)

@playfulfoodie, sorry! You need more $PIZZA to use this command.
