Florida is a wild, wild place — with alligators, snakes, panthers and bears. So, I should not flinch when I see a harmless lizard, right?
Agreed. Yet, I did jump a little when, between doing laps, this little fellow leaped into the pool with me from a nearby tree.
Turns out, I needn’t have worried at all. This was one very cool lizard. It lingered in the pool, sometimes doing laps with me, other times, playing patty cake with the side of the pool wall, alternating between floating & sinking to the bottom:

At one point, it nonchalantly touched my foot, lightly, but was generally there to hangout out!
Papa or mama lizard, in the collage I made below, was another matter.
It looked like a small dinosaur, in comparison, and out of respect (and a smidgeon of fear) I kept a polite distance between us...
