Good morning and happy Thursday to everyone who is part of this community and the blockchain community in general.

The blackout.

The blackout, better known as power rationing, is something that is significantly affecting the daily lives of all of us Venezuelans. These power rationing measures consist of 6 hours without electricity every day; however, yesterday was one of the worst days yet, as there were five power outages—four of which lasted two hours, and the last one occurred from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Among the many things affecting your day-to-day life—not having cell phone service, a dead cell phone battery, no internet—and even if you manage to get internet access, there’s no signal strong enough to connect and make a transaction, much less post something or try to write this—this is something that affects not only the lives of workers, business owners, and entrepreneurs, but also the lives of those women who spend their days at home and those mothers with young children. The heat also takes a heavy toll on people’s health. but one of the most glaring problems is mental health—the stress levels people are experiencing because of this are reaching breaking points.

Yesterday was one of those frustrating days because of the power rationing, and today, as the day begins, the first thought that comes to mind for most Venezuelans is: “What time will the power go out? How many hours will we have power today?” There’s nothing but speculation, and all these questions put us on high alert the moment we wake up. I think we Venezuelans will end up getting mentally ill from so much stress and uncertainty.

And if you think your life is frustrating and that you’re having mental health issues, that’s fine—just don’t ever compare them to ours.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with a black out. 🙁 I hope the power comes back on soon.

For the post, maybe take a picture of street lights out at night or something other than a pure black picture, just so people can really see what's going on.
