RE: The "Costco Effect"

My girlfriend works for Costco for years. See that’s the misperception of Costco. They love promoting smaller companies and featuring them. They place a massive order for either a region or the entire company. These small businesses do everything to get what was ordered done. Some of these companies it takes several months to do so. Costco as Costco does blows out of the item. The small companies can’t meet another demand like Costco because they are now behind on their normal orders from everyone else. So either the company expands their production plant or most times they sell out to bigger companies that can handle the new massive increase in demand. I’m a big imported specialty cheese person. Costco gets three of my favorites in once a year, because that’s all that’s available to them. So I buy multiples and store them properly so that I have them for a longer window of time, without having to pay double for those cheeses elsewhere.
