As an interested observer of the #LMAC collage scene, I think it's time to address something I've been noticing for some time now, and which doesn't necessarily evoke positive reactions in me. The term "collage" (in the context of art) goes back to the French verb "coller", which means to stick.
In digital terms, this means that objects are digitally rearranged during the redesign process. However, @shaka's template was not meant to disappear completely, but rather to create an entirely different view of the scenario with a new arrangement.
This is the aspect that (in my opinion) is getting lost more and more. Simply importing aliens and mythical creatures into a template doesn't necessarily turn the idea into a collage. A positive exception is the work of @seckorama, who truly elevates digital gluing to an art form.
