Same But Different – Round #5 – Bread and baked goods

Hey to all #samebutdifferent #sbd fans

It's Monday, the start of a new week, and it's time to announce the new theme for the Same but Different challenge, where we showcase things that seem completely ordinary to us at first glance, but might be totally extraordinary or even exotic for friends from the other side of the world.

This week we're running the theme for round five – Bread and Baked Goods, and I'll also announce the theme for the following week. What will it be? Read the article to the end and find out 😁.

Round #5 – Bread and baked goods

Bread and baked goods are among the most common staple foods. But are bread and baked goods the same everywhere? Definitely not. Anyone who's traveled knows that bread varies everywhere. Sometimes it's a loaf, sometimes a baguette, sometimes a flatbread, made from light or dark dough, baked using different technologies... Please show what bread or baked goods are typical for your country – whether your home is Japan, Nigeria, Venezuela, Costa Rica, or any other country or region. Or show the bread or baked goods you've discovered during your travels. I'm personally very curious about this.

Round #6 – School classes

Some of us still remember our school years, while others have school-age children.
What do classrooms look like in your country or region? What kind of furniture do they have, and what do the desks look like? Do students sit alone or in pairs? Are pictures on the walls for decoration or as teaching aids? Do you have a traditional chalkboard or use more advanced technologies? We're interested in all of these details.

Sort:

Unfortunately in developed countries (NorthAmerica, Europe, Australia) most people prefer to eat junk food causing the obesity pandemia they have

But that's also a great topic for this challenge. After all, bread is part of a burger too.

And this doesn't apply universally – as a European, I might not have eaten fast food for years 😁
