Same But Different – Round #7 – Gas stations

Hey to all #samebutdifferent #sbd fans

It's Monday, the start of a new week, and it's time to announce the new theme for the Same but Different challenge, where we showcase things that seem completely ordinary to us at first glance, but might be totally extraordinary or even exotic for friends from the other side of the world.

This week we're running the theme for round seven – Gas Stations, and I'll also announce the theme for the following week. What will it be? Read the article to the end and find out 😁.

Round #7 – Gas Stations

There are places where you'll find gas stations every few miles, and there are places where they're hundreds of miles apart. Some belong to major oil corporations, while others are owned by small private operators. In some locations, you'll find extensive complexes with restaurants, car washes, and tire services; in others, there are just isolated fuel pumps. These are all gas stations.

What does a typical gas station look like in your country? That's another topic for the #samebutdifferent #sbd challenge.

Round #8 – Newspaper stands

I don't know to what extent this is true, but with the rise of online news, print newspapers are becoming less common. In the past, it was typical to start the day by reading morning newspapers, either during breakfast or on public transit to work.

And where do these paper newspapers come from? Some have them subscribed and delivered directly to their mailbox, while others buy them at a newsstand or kiosk.

If you still use traditional paper newspapers, or know someone who does, where do you buy them? Are there still any newsstands in your area?
