The Pursuit of Relocating Humans from Planet Earth to Mars

in Project HOPE4 years ago

The race to leave earth and exist on other planets have been on for some time and since the creation of this idea so many people have been excited about what living in space would look like. Elon Musk has taken the leadership board as he has invested so much money in making the idea of living in Mars a reality.
The planet earth has all the essential ingredient to support life, but humans seem to have exhausted the available minerals on the planet and this has prompted researchers to look for ways to move humans from earth to another planet, the researchers found Venus and Mars to be exciting but they currently find more interest in Mars and the idea is to move humans to Mars.

A Quick Comparison between Earth and Mars.

There are similarities between Earth and Mars.

The difference between a complete day on Earth and a complete day on Mars is just a difference of forty four minutes (44 minutes).

The normal temperature on mars is 25 degree while the normal temperature on earth is 23 degree
The temperature variation on both planets are greatly similar.

The both planets are rocky and they are made up of various mineral structures.

Mountains and deserts are also available on Mars just like we have on Earth.

The Differences between the two planets are also significant.

The Earth is a blue planet while Mars is a red planet.
The atmosphere on Mars is not suitable for humans, it is made up of 96% of carbon, 2% of Argon and 2% of Nitrogen which makes it completely unbreathable for any human who goes there.

Mars is extremely cold compared to Earth with an average of -46 Celsius, -143 Celsius during winter and Ice of 35Celsius during summer.

Mars is usually dusty and it is characterized with frequent thunder storms.

The availability of water on Mars is close to the pole and it is frozen, there is no other source of water available on Mars.

Scientist Plans to Bridge the Gap.

Scientists plan to set up an habitat on Mars that will have the capacity of supporting large amount of humans, these habitat will be able to protect humans from the harsh weather, provide breathable air and as well a shield against cosmic ray. The provision of this habitat is not a big deal to Scientists, they have it all planned out as they will create a large enclosure to act as a central hub for every human that will live on Mars making a pressurized glass dorm.
The pressurized glass dorm will be powered with a solar panel which does not have the risk of radiation attached to it, the only issue which is not a big deal is the availability of a large space and Mars is as good as a vacant land anyways.

Earth currently has hydro farms which could be easily transferred to Mars, but water remains a big challenge.
NASA is making a research on how water could be obtained from underground reservoirs and highly efficient recycling options will be used, the other option available is to source for the iced water available on the poles as I mentioned earlier and transform them into a clean reusable safe water.

Sort:

96% carbon? Going there is more or less a suicide mission to me.

On the other hand, where would I want to leave Earth to another planet? I hope science doesn't make some persons go haywire.

You know science is all about research, invention and trying out new things, when they fail to try out new things it just appears as if they are no longer existing so they need to keep trying out new things.

You're welcome @eni-ola ❤️☀️

Hi @eni-ola!

I think you failed to add whether the gravity on Mars is higher than on Earth. Supposedly, we'd weigh about 70% less. So fat would be the least of our worries about going to Mars ;)

The temperature changes are also impressive. It will be a great step for mankind to make this project a reality. But I suppose it's many years away.

The development of this proposal is very interesting. Scientists must make sure of all aspects because once they get there there will be no spare parts store nearby in case of failure.

Thanks for sharing :D
