What is your type of communication?

Communication is the basis of relationships, we have heard and read that many times, but have you ever wondered, what is your type of communication?
The answer to this question is very important if you are aiming for success in business or professional life.

Many people throughout their career and/or working life have realized at some point that their communication with the rest of the members of the work team is not getting the results they expected.
This usually happens when there are failures in our communication and even our communication style is aggressive, passive, or passive-aggressive.
That is why in this publication I want to highlight the characteristics of each communication style so that each reader will be able to identify which is his or her type of communication and how to improve it.
The following are the most important characteristics of the four best-known communication styles:

Aggressive

Aggressive communicators are characterized by being direct, cutting, and blunt; they tend to be extroverted and are not afraid to speak in public, they even always want to speak first, they tend to interrupt others when they are speaking and they always try to make their ideas prevail.


They also have a dominant attitude, as well as questioning the opinions of the rest of the team without any consideration.
As a result, they are rejected by others, some of them feel intimidated and keep their distance.

Passive

These communicators are characterized by a lack of self-confidence and are often easily persuaded to change their minds in order to please others and avoid conflict or confrontation.
In work meetings, they are usually silent and when asked for their opinion it is very difficult for them to make themselves understood or express it, let alone try to talk to others in support of it.

Passive-Aggressive

They have the particularity of being aggressive with some people and not with others, due to the fact that they act with timidity towards those people who could cause them some conflict.
Generally, they are bad at expressing their opinions but there are moments when aggressiveness prevails and they become direct and blunt.

Assertive

This communicator knows how to express their ideas and ask for what they need in an appropriate way. They listen to others and exchange opinions while always maintaining respect for others.
Certainly, this type of communicator is generally a leader in an organization, enjoys the sympathy of the other workers, and if he/she is a manager he/she achieves the leadership and respect of his/her collaborators.

In conclusion, it is very important to be able to identify the type of communicator we are, in order to seek the necessary improvements to improve our communication.

So, we can identify the type of communicators with whom we interact on a professional level.

greetings, from my point of view I am an "aggressive" communicator, I guess it has to do with my personality and the way I see life now that I know what kind of communicator I am I can improve my communication with others.

I think I have a little of each one hehehe, sometimes it also depends a lot on our mood, there are many factors that can influence our communication at a specific time.
