Deforestation and its relationship to the emergence of pathogenic diseases in humans

in Project HOPE3 years ago

In this new contribution, I will be sharing with friends of @Project.HOPE one of the most controversial approaches in environmental matters, such as the induced depletion or deterioration of the forest surface, and its relation with the appearance of pathogenic diseases in humans.

On a global scale, the exponential deforestation that the forest surface has suffered in the last two (02) decades is a very controversial issue, fundamentally because the disappearance of large forest areas has directly impacted on climate change, as uncontrolled increases in temperature and unbalanced rainfall periods have been observed, Among other imbalances of soil and climate origin, however, the most important element is related to the decline in biodiversity, because, following the loss of natural habitats has triggered a significant decrease, and in some cases extinction of both plant and animal specimens.

In this sense, it is important to point out that the decrease in the population of plant and animal specimens as a result of deforestation is an element of considerable gravity, not only because of the negative impact on the balance of the flora and fauna, but also because of the direct effect on human health. This is because, according to multiple investigations as the forest habitat is reduced, particularly the animals experience loss of body density, and at the same time susceptibility to attack by pathogenic agents, essentially viruses and bacteria.

However, since deforestation is the main cause of animals becoming susceptible to attack by viruses and bacteria, it should be understood that the transmission of infectious diseases from animals to humans should be a cause for concern, mainly because zoonotic infections have been not only the main source of pathogenic outbreaks, but also the cause of the most tragic pandemics that humanity has historically suffered. Therefore, it is of vital importance to act in favor of the deceleration of climate change, carrying out activities for the recovery and reforestation of forests, which allows the improvement of affected habitats.

Hi, according to you we are harming nature without knowing that we are harming ourselves, climate change is the greatest threat we face and to combat it requires the work of all countries.

Greetings friend @cryptoxicate

Correct, by creating imbalances we only activate pathogens that end up diminishing our quality of life, since by altering the natural cycle, the niches of aggressive pathogens that affect us at the level of health are violated. Certainly, the consensus of the States in combating these environmental imbalances, will be able in some way to diminish in the future the appearance of pandemics like Covid-19.

Hello friend @lupafilotaxia
What you are saying about deforestation and the facilitation through this of a greater probability that animals will get sick and that a disease will be passed on to humans, people know that it can happen, we are living a pandemic so it is a complex cycle, but in spite of this, the damage continues and it seems that nobody does much to avoid it.

Greetings friend @josevas217

It is so true what you express, that an example of this; are the forest fires that have hit in full pandemic the tropical forests of the Amazon, fundamentally on the Brazilian side, where nobody does anything, the international institutions only reduce themselves to emit media declarations, but without taking certain measures that stop this lamentable situation, that without a doubt, will bring consequence and will unleash new pandemics in the future.

Greetings friend @lanzjoseg, thanks for the support given to the socialized content.

Greetings my dear friend professor @lupafilotaxia.

Who could have thought that deforestation could cause a difference in the animal-human relationship, since even today the appearance of the new crown virus is associated with the fact that the virus was transmitted from an animal to a human.

Greetings friend and thank you for sharing.

It has been a much discussed point, to date multiple investigations reveal, the degenerative impact and the pressure on animal habitats, which makes them vulnerable to the attack essentially of virus, from there that the appearance of pandemics is associated to the climate change induced precisely by deforestation. We continue reading.

It is an important topic friend @lupafilotaxia, no doubt that deforestation has caused a great impact on the environment, being the animal species the most affected, but we must look with concern how this affects us, having as expressed here, relationship with the increase of outbreaks of pathogenic diseases in humans.

The origin of each pandemic has always been evaluated, and most of them come from problems associated with climate change, mainly due to deforestation, but unfortunately everything is left in voice, because when the health protocols are created, for example vaccines, no one worries about creating measures to generate balances in the ecosystems, so this will always be a constant cycle with more and more adverse numbers

Thank you for sharing this very informative and educational article, especially the impact of deforestation and its impact on biodiversity, as you show us that it is the main cause of animals becoming susceptible to attack by viruses and bacteria.

Thanks to you, my friend @newton666, the idea behind every environmental publication is precisely to alert and at the same time call for reflection, because if we do not act now, new and increasingly dangerous pandemics await us.

Hello my friend @lupafilotaxia, no doubt the whole planetary system works like the gears of a sophisticated clock, if some of these gears are damaged all the machinery is affected. The same happens in natural habitats, look at the consequences that can bring an inadequate management in the deforestation of forests and how it can affect all plant and animal species. Thank you for sharing such pleasant content.

Right, and precisely when these gears are decoupled, everything turns into chaos, the extraordinarily negative thing is that it gives the impression that we will not care about these imbalances, which in the end affect our health. Thanks for stopping by the blog and leaving your comment.

Greetings friend and colleague @lupafilotaxia

I agree with you, the issue of deforestation has grown massively worldwide regardless of the alteration that is caused to the existing fauna, species have to migrate, humanity has not yet assimilated the relationship with nature, harmony.

That's right, but we are suffering from the chaos it generates today, in a tragic way, or at least we can contrast this by counting the number of deaths from the recent pandemic associated with the Covid-19 virus.
