Welcome dear members of this prestigious platform. This publication serves as a conceptual approach to some manifestations of the virus associated with covid-19, so that we will focus our attention on general aspects associated with viral mutations.

As has been constant throughout my publications, this type of content will be shared through the community of @Project.hope, who have remained in trend of issues associated with technological, scientific, environmental, economic, among others.

As a conceptual opening it is necessary to highlight that a virus is a biological species considered as an infectious agent, which has the ability to form long chains of RNA, where the genetic in formation of the same is stored. These species need a host in order to coexist, hence they are forced to invade the cells of the host body and once this task is accomplished, they force the cells to replicate their genetic information so that they can reproduce and spread throughout the body.

Undoubtedly, it is a sophisticated and invasive mechanism and despite the large economic investments that are invested daily, the viruses eradicated are limited and, on the contrary, new variants of these species emerge that threaten the welfare of the general population.

Biologically, there are two factors that determine the presence or appearance of viral species: the evolution and plasticity of the RNA genome of the virus and the alterations that man has developed in viral species as a result of the study and behavior of the species.

So that mutations are nothing more than a mechanism of adaptation of the species, which develops as a defense to the change generated in the place where it lives and depending on the variations in its genetic code (genome), there may be different varieties of the species some with greater immunity than others by which it can be established that have been more effective in their adaptation.

In this sense, at the biological level, the genotypic variants of viruses move uphill until they reach an adaptive level that allows them to continue to coexist, a process called directional selection. In the case of the coronavirus, we are living these adaptive phases, that is why, at present and beyond the advances in vaccination, we have heard about the new strains among which we can mention:

1. The UK variant, also known as B.1.1.7, this variation has allowed the development of replicas with greater efficacy than SARS-CoV-2, increasing mortality levels by up to 70%.

2. The Brazilian variant, called P.1, its adaptation process is a function of difficulties to be detected by the tests that we have so far and by the antibodies of our body, it has been identified in three countries.

3. The South African variant, called 1.315, is close to the United Kingdom variant, but there is still little information about it and it has been detected so far in 23 countries.

Based on the appearance of these mutations, we can determine that the virus is looking to continue coexisting in our lives and has been adapting to the experimental studies that have been developed, hence, in a way, the alarms have been raised because we do not know the effects that the vaccines developed so far would have. I believe that we are still in the phase of discovering the most viable mechanisms to eradicate SARS-CoV-2. In this sense, if you have found this information useful, I invite you to leave your contribution in the comment section.

The strange thing about mutations is that they happen in countries that do not want to adhere to globalism.

Greetings @bntcamelo, let's say that in many cases these mutations coincide with other species, where the human body had not generated antibody to fight it, hence the lethality of these. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment
