cutting living expenses is not the solution

Source

greetings to the community I hope you are well, if you live in Venezuela remember that the new strain of covid-19 is very dangerous so you should be very cautious, in this article I want to present my point of view on a topic "expenses", for many people the solution to economic problems is to reduce spending, but from my point of view that is not the solution because every lifestyle has an amount of money to spend and by nature the human being fights for his goals if he sees that there is an improvement in his life, so many of the economic problems of the people are in earning little and not in spending.

A couple of days ago I was talking to a friend who is doing very well economically, this friend told me about his expenses that from my point of view were very high, when I told him that in my opinion he was spending too much money he told me that each lifestyle has a budget and that each type of life has an amount of money that is necessary, he talked about lifestyles of $100 a month other more expensive lifestyles in Latin America of about $1000 a month and others living in developed countries that have lifestyles of over $10k, people work to be in those lifestyles and that there is nothing wrong with spending according to the lifestyle you choose to have, he told me that what causes suffering in people is that their income does not match their lifestyle.

If a person wants to live a $1000 lifestyle but their income is $800, this person can live a life where they spend $100 and they will live a peaceful life according to their income, but if people take that solution, they will end up depressed and feeling that life is not very good, their motivation will drop because it is not what they want not to mention that living below their means does not motivate anyone.

the solution is to increase your income, although it is true that it is not the easiest solution it is a solution that will help you grow as a person and will allow you to raise the level of difficulty, if you think about it if a person who earns $800 decides they want to live a $1000 lifestyle and achieves it this person will feel fulfilled and will then want to increase to $1100, in the opposite case if a person wants to reduce their expenses they can do so but the deprivation will reduce their motivation.

In conclusion, the most logical thing to do is to first know how much the lifestyle you want to live costs and then work harder to increase your income instead of just looking to reduce expenses, one of the best pieces of advice is that "Everything a person concentrates on expands" if you focus on living on less you will achieve it as well as if you focus on earning more to pay for your lifestyle also with time and consistency you will achieve it.

Hello @trabajosdelsiglo!
If your goals are small, you will get small results, but if you think big, you will get big results. You always have to think big and look for the way to achieve what you set out to do. However, in the Venezuela we live in I think sometimes it is necessary to cut some expenses because it really is a race every day economically. Greetings!

I am totally agree with you in this but i think we should cut unnecessary expenses. My family also facing this issue they are unable to manage the money but i think i have to make better plan for them. Anyway nice thoughts

Greetings @trabajosdelsiglo, certainly lifestyles as far as economic expenses are concerned translates into quality of life, today Venezuelans struggle to have a better quality of life the problem is that in Venezuela salaries do not allow at this time to cover basic needs therefore you spend more than you earn at all times.

it is correct that the quality of life is given by the things that a person can possess without them there is no quality of life.

Hi @trabajosdelsiglo
The decision is up to each one of us, certain circumstances often hinder people from achieving what they set out to do, but that is part of life and we have to work hard to overcome the obstacles and achieve the lifestyle we set out to achieve.
Excellent reading, thanks for sharing it.
Best regards.

Wow. Very wise that friend the explanation regarding the lifestyle I can summarize it in the following way.

You should tuck yourself as far as the blanket can reach, find a way to make money, and buy a new blanket.
Certainly some people want to have a different lifestyle than you have because the money is not enough for them, that's when some corrupt and criminals come out to satisfy their economic needs.

You are absolutely right, possibilities are created and the worst thing to do is to settle for the current reality.

@trabajosdelsiglo I think there is a line that separates this dilemma, because what really causes suffering to people is to pretend to show off what their budget does not cover, there is a psychological conflict that leads to deteriorate their quality of life. Quality of life is not the same as expenses, if people do not plan their income/expenses ratio they condemn themselves to not better themselves economically, the great holders of wealth have reached their current and very comfortable lifestyles by planning their expenses.

from my point of view suffering comes from lack of things, you are more likely to suffer if you don't have food and money than if you only have emotional conflicts.
