It is said that artificial intelligence has reached human parity to a cognitive capacity when AI can perform a task with the same skill as humans, in that sense many advances have been made year after year. In this brief historical summary I comment the different achievements from 2016 until today.
In 2016 IA reached human parity in machine vision and had the first celebrity recognition service at this time IA was able to recognize celebrity faces in a database.
In 2017 the AI achieved parity in voice recognition and also in this year alphazero was born (an AI capable of defeating the go and shogi chess champions) although so far it is known that in one of the games a chess player managed to beat that AI, although the player was a professional it takes him quite a lot of work to beat it.
In 2018 another jump of AI is achieved when achieves parity in translation from English to Chinese and from Chinese to English as well as parity in reading compression making it possible for AI to participate in debate programs.
In 2019 artificial intelligence achieves parity in lip reading and by this date the advances in this field were incredible.
In 2020, artificial intelligence achieves parity in user interface creation as well as program design. This is the year GPT-3 is born, an AI (artificial intelligence) that generates text and is capable of writing emails.
In conclusion, after all the advances that year after year are taking place regarding the evolution of artificial intelligence, 2021 will be the year in which AI will reach the cognitive pair of the human being in the capacity to tell lies and will be able to use that capacity for his interests. . Undoubtedly, this coming year many industries will see a leap in their technologies, and the speed with which they are working is impressive, not to mention that countries like China have a special interest in AI, to use it in the control of their citizens.
