Your Ledger assets may be compromised - Watch out if you receive this email!

Do you own a ledger? Has it been registered at the official Ledger website? If so, you have most likely received an email recently with the following title: Re: Your Ledger assets may be compromised

Now, the content of the email looks quite real, and the email tells you that Ledger has had a data breach and in order to secure your funds, you need to download an update. You can see the full email below!

To be honest, this looks like a real email, and it do sound scary (at least if you have a ledger with funds on). But, there are a few things you should absolutely be aware of. First of all, check the last word in the actual email. It says, Sincerely, Legder! Having a typo in your "title" in an email is junk!

And the second, if you scroll above the link to download the latest version, you will see the following URL:
url2330.legder.com/ls/click?lotsofjunksueryhsfgliuserkliuser

Do you see the domain name? Once again, it is legder.com and not the official domain. You are currently very safe, but if you decide to follow these instructions and install the recommended update from this email, that is when your funds will be actually stolen!

In other words, watch out, keep your funds safe, and do not click or install updates from such an email. If you ever get insecure, leave the email and manually visit the website of Ledger, Trezor, or whatever institution should send you a similar email. Don't click the links in such emails, even if you believe it comes from a safe source!

Stay safe!

In Germany they send you SMS with the link de-ledger.com. The landing page looks shockingly similar, but you notice as many buttons don't work.
