I enjoy making cover videos, but I’ve always been a little hesitant of posting them on platforms that I can generate revenue from. This is because half the song’s revenue goes to the song writing. So I don’t want someone knocking on my door 10 years from now with their hand out. I really don’t believe that would happen, but you never know. My solution is fairly simple. Burn your covers. I invite you to join me. I’m hoping to make this a weekly thing, but I just kind of want to dip my toes in it for a minute or two before I commit to it. I watch American Idol. I know, I know. LOL. Recently, a contestant sang this song by Demi Lovato, and I realized I really enjoyed the song, so I learned it. At least my own version of it. So here it is. I plan on posting some sort of cover every week, and if you want to participate just do the same and burn your covers, then put your link below, and we can help Hive with inflation together.

In this case, you are not "Burning" rewards. You are declining rewards which is different. When they are burned, you send them to @null. But now that I think about it, maybe 3Speak doesn't have an option to send to @null.
When you decline rewards, curators cannot win anything, and there will be no incentive to vote for the post.
Awe. Thanks for the info. I seem to be off a bit on my understanding, but as long as I don’t make anything on the post my idea should work good enough to accomplish my goal. You have a good point on the curation. I’m used to Steem where if you decided not to take a payout it would help with currency inflation. Does Hive work the same? Thanks again. I’ll do more research on this.
I believe that Hive works similar to STEEM in this unless there have been changes in the mechanics. But it's true. By declining rewards, it doesn't increase inflation. When you burn the rewards, curators do get their part, so it 50% of the inflation.
