What I am listening to

in Musicforlife 🎶3 years ago

Good Evening

So recently I went to A relatives BBQ as the weather was very nice. I knew the people as it was family related.

It was A solid BBQ, not A proper all-out BBQ instead my relatives just set up A few of those disposable type BBQ's and A few beers.

Overall the BBQ was awesome but it was what happened towards the end of the BBQ that this post is about.

My relatives have A nice stereo and so I decided to link up my phone via Bluetooth, they let me do this as normally they just have the radio on.

After playing A few songs I was asked why I listen to such "old" music.

Now I am 20 and my music taste well let's just say my jam is 70s, 80s, 90s and some 00's I have nothing against today's music I just can't get into it.

They were very intrigued why I don't listen to up to date music especially as Teens in today's age tend to walk around with Bluetooth speakers blasting music where I can't even understand what the rapper is saying.

So that inspired me to share with you guys what I have been listening to most of the time and my favourite artists, songs and genres.

I'll do my best to keep one song from each artist to keep this post somewhat readable but at the very end, I will post my Amazon playlist link to the songs I currently have in my amazon playlist, yes I use Amazon because it's cheaper when you own an Alexa.

Lets begin.

Black Sabbath: Paranoid.

Where do I begin? This was A song I grew up loving it was my school alarm clock for A period of time I really like the music Ozzy Osbourne came up with and I am glad that it's still A big anthem in most pubs today.

There are many more songs I like from both Black Sabbath and Ozzy such as Shot in the dark, Crazy train, and Iron man.

Def Leppard wow what A band.

Def Leppard was probably the band that started my love for rock and roll.

From Pour some sugar on me to Hysteria I love what they made and they did some amazing work.

Bringing on the heartbreak was A great song and I have listened to it a lot over the years.

Meatloaf. Incredible just incredible I think out of all the artists in my playlist Meatloaf has the most songs in there, I just love his music and it annoys me he isn't considered a "legend" like the others.

Anything for love remains my faveroute song from him I just love it and romantic songs just really hit differently.

Alice cooper wow what A legend, I like to call him A vampire because although old He doesn't age and even his live performances still hold up amazing. I stumbled onto Alice cooper A little later in my teens around 17 first listening to Might as well be on mars before diving deeper into the songs he created.

Although the song poison is probably his most iconic track it was Might as well be on Mars and Bed of nails that really intrigued me.

Ah yes the great guitar riffs, the nice drum beat Fortunate song was another song I really enjoyed in my later teens. I am going, to be honest I haven't really listened to other tracks by Creedence Clearwater but Fortunate son is great and I have no complaints about that.

Scooter! now this one is interesting. I stumbled on Scooter by luck, When I purchased A small stereo for my room many years ago my mother gave me A couple of albums and well one turned out to be Scooters album and well the rest is history.

Motley Crue wow shivers come down my spine and my provisional driver's licence does not feel so good when Kickstart my heart plays 😂

I found this song in my college years A couple of years ago and it always felt like A raise the roof type song, it was one of those songs where it would hype me up if I was A little low and unmotivated.

Everyone knows that the 60s to the 00s is when music was good. :D Well.. there is a lot of good newer music too if you ignore what the radio stations call 'popular best music'

Now I need to go listen to peter gabriel 'Sledgeahmmer' again among other songs.

Also now I feel old.

I have nothing against today's music I just can't get into it.

Neither can I, I gave up trying a few years ago. My daughter is only 3 years younger than you can doesn't like todays scene either. You were born into the wrong time period!

yeah I don't listen to todays tunes just can't understand half of it and most of it is just rapping about killing people anyways and yes born at the wrong time indeed
