This is a little gribblybonus!

In the last post on my listening chain I mentioned that I used to play the track under discussion on guitar - and said I'd possibly have a crack. so here we go. :-)

Dusted off my 12-string (which could have done with a polish, going by the video!), and hacked though it.

Not the best sound quality and a couple of mistakes - but as I say, it's a bit of fun rather than a pro 'open mike' session ;-)

Nice to see you strumming a guitar and your voice is very similar to Paul Heaton. Good one.

That looks like an Ikea shelf unit behind you. We have one like that too, but mostly the classic Billy bookshelves in my study. Acts as some sound baffling.

Oh, bless you for that comment about my voice. I'm flattered!

Yeah - we love a bit of Ikea in our house. We've a few of those shelves as they for 12" records very nicely 😉

I'll take a photo of my tables at some point, as I've done an 'Ikea hack' to make monitor/module risers using some of the floating shelves and odd packs of legs from the kitchen cabinets they do...

I think one of their units could be easily converted into a 19" rack. I don't have that, but I do have the amazing Jerker desk. It's crazy that they don't do it any more.

You're right - I'd forgotten about that.

The only 19" rack module I have at the moment is an old M1R. A Cash Convertors bargain. It's fun to fire it up every so often - there's a bunch of factory presets that are immediately recognisable from the records they were used on back in the day...

The IKEA shelf is one I see at various of my friends, all DJs, all using it to store their Vinyl collection they build when CD, MP3 and all was not around for DJs to use, and the Technics was the master of every club and festival stage.

I have always liked that song from the first time I heard it. I enjoyed the entire album and I am glad you chose this tune to play.

Hi @bashadow! Thanks for that - it is a fun one to do.

You NAILED it! In a single take! Great video and super cool you got yourselves recorded and shared the results with us. I liked it for sure... Plz continue.

BTW, you're easy to please and motivated. Just a single reply got you to do this?! hahahaha nice LOL :)

Haha! Thank you! I'll not tell you what take number that was... 😉

And replace "easy to please and motivated" with "vain and attention-seeking", and I reckon you're about there... 🤣

Don't be too modest.... Must be your first take... Raving on about cut cut cut, and I didn't see a cut :)

vain and attention-seeking

Nah, I dont believe you! :)

Don't be too modest.... Must be your first take... Raving on about cut cut cut, and I didn't see a cut :)

That's because I'd decided to hedge my bets - I'd done the intro waffle so many times, I thought I'd make an excuse for not having to do it again if I stuffed up the song!

Bravo Bravo!!!!!!
