Rising Star - Accumulating Skill Points Tips...

One of the challenges in this game is to reduce Ego in order to earn more Starbits in every mission. In order to reduce Ego the player has to increase their skill points as much as their fan points. The problems I have faced when it comes to balancing enough skill points to fan points are listed here and possible resolutions. Hope this will help other gamers to get a better handle in balancing their fan to skill points and overall reduce their Ego and maximize Starbit earnings.

Skill Point Cards Limited

I am not sure why skill points boosters cards are rarely given out in prizes. As a matter of fact inside the discord channel I scrolled past few weeks and have not seen one skill booster given out as a prize.

Off the bat it is clear that players are more likely to have more fans than skills since they have more likelihood of buying or earning through rewards fan boosters rather than skill boosters.

There is not much of a work around on this, but players can go and purchase storage cards to hold extra fans in order to maintain a 1 for 1 fan to skill ratio. This is an additional expense since players have to purchase the storage cards in order for this function to activate. However it may become useful to have since further down the road the missions will require a lot more fans in order to activate. In addition any Ego points added during a mission are permanent. So the sooner the player keeps their ratio of 1 to 1 with fans and skills the better off they are at keeping their Ego to a near zero.

Music Lessons

At the initial start of the game Music Lessons are the least of a player's priority of missions to accomplish. That is because by rule of the game Ego does not come into play unless the player is at a specific level and/or has a specific amount of Fans. However once the thresholds are cross it is inevitable that the player needs to perform music lessons and find a way to balance between earning Starbits in performances or earning skill points in music lessons. This is because both performances and music lessons take up precious energy in order to execute.

The goal of music lessons is to increase the overall skill points. Each successful competition of a music lesson will earn a specific amount of skill points. All music lessons requires 40% energy bar and requires 60 minutes to complete. To increase the earning of skill points in a music lesson:

Buy more XP booster cards. The more experience boosters the player has the more skill points they can earn per a music lesson.

Buy more instrument cards. Stack cards with a specific type of instrument, whether it is drums, pianos, vehicles, production equipment, or microphones the combination of a specific type will make an aggregate total of how many skill points a player can earn in a music lesson. For instance the more drum instrument cards the players holds the more skill points they will earn when completing a drum music lesson.

More People Cards

One of the main reasons to collect NFTs are to gain fans and skill points. That way the player can advance in missions and earn bigger rewards. The People NFTs are the only type of cards besides boosters that offers skill points boosts. However majority of the People cards come with fan points too. There are a couple of cards if a player needed to have to boost mostly skill points. Cards such as:

Buster (currently lowest price at 0.17 Hive)

Limey (Currently lowest price at 0.77 Hive)

Mr. Dependable (Currently lowest price at 0.77 Hive)

Toadie (Currently lowest price at 2.97 Hive)

Ed (Currently lowest price at 5.5 Hive)

Song Writer (Currently lowest price at 1.1 Hive)

Honorable mentions: Female and Male Rappers where they offer 200 skill points to their 50 fan points.

The main reason I bring up discussing ways to earn skill points is because it has been a challenge for me to reduce my Ego enough to be effectively earning more Starbits. What I have experienced through the game I hope I can pass on and help other players. To which I want to add that maybe some players simply do not card how much Starbits they would earn and would just like progress in the game through completing all the missions. This is fine too and Ego may not need to be their concern. I on the other hand am trying to find ways to be more efficient by earning more while playing the same amount of time in the game. This makes it somewhat challenging to play but also fun.

I believe there is a trick to reduce your fans by storing your fans away in special cards (don't have any so I can't tell you) or by listing your high fan cards on the market for a unrealistic price to take it out of your stock.

Yes it is through storage cards. I briefly explained it in the post.

"There is not much of a work around on this, but players can go and purchase storage cards to hold extra fans in order to maintain a 1 for 1 fan to skill ratio. This is an additional expense since players have to purchase the storage cards in order for this function to activate."

I believe the workaround is to list it on the market and it would also count towards moving fans out of your stock.
