Johann Christoph Oley, Herr Jesu Christ, du höchstes Gut

Manuscript Ec 266.1.2, held by the Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek, Bonn, is the source of a few more choral preludes by Johann Christoph Oley that I have not published before. The first of these from this manuscript is Oley's prelude to the chorale "Herr Jesu Christ, du höchstes Gut". It features the chorale melody in the soprano voice with the other voices playing an accompaniment in a slow ternary rythm. The middle voices are in several places too far apart to play the chorale melody on a different manual with a solo registration. That's a pitty, because it would otherwise have worked really well in this composition.

The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sample set of the Holzey organ of St. Peter and Paul in Weissenau by Prospectum (https://www.prospectum.com/index.php?language=english&id1=2&id2=9).
