Description from Strava:
After my weekend in Liverpool at the drum show I am back to my home turf. The mornings are getting distinctly darker even though I was a bit slow getting up and out today. It was cool, but I still did not feel the need for extra layers.

I did the usual Fairfield loop, but tried to keep the pace up a bit. Also, as usual, I got quicker as I went on. That is partly due to more uphill on the first half. We see a few Halloween decorations around here and there will probably be more pumpkins out soon. I have said elsewhere that I think such festivals should be limited to a week at most.

I have been posting on Hive about my new 3D printer. I ought to look at what running accessories I could print off. Little things that can be quite expensive to buy can cost pennies to make.

The run went pretty well overall. I had a dog lunge at me, but the owner held it back. I try to give them some space anyway, but you can often sense if a dog is friendly. A lot of them just ignore me. I may do an intervals run tomorrow and have a rest day before getting back to parkrun. Mind you, the weather forecast for tomorrow is very wet and windy, so I will see if I fancy facing that.

It is getting time for new running shoes. I will probably go for Allbirds again. I find them comfortable and I like their ecological credentials. I get through about a pair per year. They just wear out and lose their bounce. For parkrun I may be on trail shoes again soon and may consider a new pair of those. Shoes are my main expense for running.

Run free and stay well.

My wife and I drove past a house last night that was all decorated up for Halloween. It was pretty impressive. On the same level we have seen for some Christmas houses!

It's become a bigger thing here since our kids were little. On some of my routes I will see a lot. The same people tend to do it for Christmas too.

Intersting!

I like such customs with decorations :)

Haha nice Halloween mood on that house
