Description from Strava:
I was at my work Xmas party last night. Last year I had too much to drink and caught the last train home. I have had a cold this week and so was not feeling like overindulging this time. We were at a restaurant right next to St Paul's Cathedral and it was nice to chat to people I do not see too often as we work all over the country. I just drank wine and was home by 11 after some train issues.

My head was a bit clogged up this morning, but I still got up in time for parkrun. It was bright and frosty out there. I walked there with a friend who is trying to get more exercise, but he did not do the run. I got there just in time for the start.

The course was better than the last couple of weeks. It has not rained much this week and the frost makes it firmer. There were still some muddy bits where the sun does not reach and those will be there all winter.

I just tried to keep up a decent pace all the way and did not worry about anyone passing me. It was not too busy so I was running on my own for a lot of it. The hardest part was running with the sun in my eyes.

A couple of people came past me on the last lap and I did my usual 'sprint' for the finish. By my watch the time was better than the last couple, but the conditions helped. I was surprised that we had less runners despite the better conditions.

As usual I went for a coffee at the camp shop with the regulars then helped put away the trolleys full of equipment.

I was waiting for the official results, but just see there was an issue with the scanned barcodes. I think I was 30th out of about 86. People do like to get all the statistics, so I let them know my run details so they can fill in some blanks.

I need to rake up some leaves on our drive today. Most have fallen now.

Run free and go to parkrun!

I’ve been to two xmas parties a week apart. Both were great. Too much drunk at both!

I've been into London several times recently. I know that I'll regret over-doing the drink, so try to avoid temptation, especially when someone else is paying.

We all hate that regret!

The frosty weather seems to have made the course more exciting :)

It made it different. When you run off-road then it's always an adventure.
