Gender equality is act of fairness to both male and female without gender discrimination, with equality the male and female are entitled to the same opportunities and rights.
The issue of gender equality was brought in to give women equal opportunities in education, politics, ministry, career and so on.
In the past centuries,there was a gap of inequality which made every girl child felt less of humans.
Women where only trained to be wives and mothers,while men where given opportunity to being more than just a husband and a father.
Over the years some men have argued againt the issue of gender equality, they assumed that giving women equal right will dampen their sense of masculinity but that is far from the original idea.
God created everyone of us with uniqueness, irrespective of our gender as such we are all entitle to living our lives to the fullest.
Though the call for equality has never been to take a woman's submission from the husband, the husband has the full right over the home.
But husbands should also come to terms with the fact that woman are not less of humans, woman are also created with "will and choice".
In the past centuries,most men abuse their wives domestically, refused to send their female children to school to obtain basic education and forcefully practice child marriage.
Most women endured violence without a fair hearing, gender equality came as a rescue for women not as a gang up against men.
Alot of women had died because of violence, children who were married off as under age died in the labour room because they where not mature enough to become mothers while others where given to slavery and the rest became bread winner for the family by farming constantly to maintain the family upkeep.
Every woman has what it takes to accomplish life task,the cry for equality is not to compete with men but to make a better meaning out of life.
There's more to a woman's life than being a wife and a mother, making her kitchen the only office.
