It’s Always The Traffic!

On Friday, I went to the market to get certain items, and at one point I was regretting my actions because of the traffic. I don’t know how, but it’s almost like the population of the country has tripled.

I planned on leaving the house very early so I could return early and beat any traffic, but the joke was on me. Hehe. The thing is I woke up very early, and all but thinking about the crowd, I was going to slip through all day just to get my items in the market. I had to do some serious psyching to take it all in.

I stepped out of the house thinking everything was going to go as planned. And then I got my first obstacle. I couldn’t get a commercial vehicle to my destination. I stood in a queue for about 30 minutes. At that point I felt like I was undergoing dehydration, so I had to grab a bottle of water from a shop nearby. And just right at the minute I left the queue, a bus came.

I had to choose between getting on the bus and getting water, so of course, I chose life. I had to find a different way to get transportation. I decided to divide the journey into two. So I picked up a bus from where I was to Midway, and then I continued to my final destination.

I didn’t talk about the part where I sat in the bus for about 2 hours for a journey that was supposed to be about 30 minutes. The traffic was insane. When I got to the market, the place was so crowded. I’ve never seen anything like that. I kept asking myself. Is it because of the festive season? And where are all these people from?

I didn’t even enjoy being at the market for a minute. It was just exhausting. I mean, the prices of things had been reduced, but I didn’t even have energy anymore. Normally I would try negotiating when I’m buying something from the market, but this time, I didn’t even care about the prices. I was just handing out money and taking the things I was buying.

I finished shopping and then got in a car to go home. I thought the traffic on the way was haunting, but the traffic from the market to the house? It was so bad. At one point, I had to just sleep because I was too tired. And I couldn’t sleep soundly because I was scared I would miss my stop, so you can imagine how it was.

Christmas is supposed to be all fun, but the traffic on the road is just too much. It’s all fun going out until you have to stay in traffic for hours before getting to your destination. Why should it be like that, though? I like December and really love Christmas and all the cool stuff about it, but this traffic thing that comes with this festive season? It just stresses me out so much.

PS: You can’t take your phone out at such places. Actually , you can only if you don’t mind losing it.

Feels weird to learn about other cultures/countries. Here we are facing the opposite, population decreasing and almost no traffic.

That definitely must be nice.

I don't like going out this time of year, either! Too much chaos! 😕

Yes. It’s just too much.

Sounds so stressful! I'm afraid I am in for a simialr experience because I am traveling to the big city on Christmas eve. I will try to bring a book for the bus because it will surely be longer than I expect.

That’s a clever idea. I won’t be surprised if you read past the middle part of the book.

Story of my life😂😂

Funny how we wrote about the same thing!

Traffic always ruins Christmas for me, I almost cried on Saturday, it was terrible🥹

Aw sorry 🥹
